Here is a pretty good interview James Sharman did with Coach Winter yesterday.

Wow...remind me not to trade my wife in at 46 for 2 23 year olds if that is what they look like.

re: sharman/winter interview: If anyone at the score is lurking, how come the volume for the pre-interview advertisement is blaring, but for the interview is so low I can barely make out the words?

How many times does Winter call James Sharman an arshe hole in that Score interview?

"arshe hole, we need time for the boys to fit into the TFShee syshtem."

"Julian is not an attacking player, he is a holding player." That's a load off my mind.

What exactly is he holding aside from a big wad of cash for not doing much?!

What the Whitecaps are doing is a slap in the face. What a way to kick off their inaugural season. Disgusting.

Absolutely agree. What the Whitecaps FO have done is basically whore out the passion and support of their fans to the highest bidder.

We all know and understand this relationship we as fans have with our teams has a business element to it, but this goes beyond anything I though a club would do.

To cut their supporters out of the possibility of buying away tickets because the Whitecaps FO handed them all over to a travel agent is deplorable.

I am sorry to say but in this day and age, this is the reality when it comes to the business of sport.

wow.... I think the the Whitecaps are walking a very fine line, and risk falling over to the other side.

And a huge factor is that PNE stadium is a great spot to be at, and BC Place might have all the charm of..... Skydome.

Is it possible this insane Whitecaps travel situation is due in part to the crazy travel agent fascist thing that we have to tip toe around? Or is that just an Ontario thing?

This has to be one of the single dumbest decisions I've ever seen. Even MLSE would have trouble topping something that seems directly designed to alienate your most passionate supporters....the reason for the gameday atmosphere in Toronto, Seattle and Philly in the first place, and the reason they have a franchise.

TICOntario

The vancouver situation seems way worse than that.

And technically speaking, we are not doing anything wrong - we are in 100% compliance with TICO's guidelines, which is why we're continuing to operate our trips for memebers. We're a bunch of football supporters who travel to support the team - and no one is making a cent off it. TICO has much bigger fish to fry (and we're not fishy at all)

Agreed. The one owner?/manager at the Steamworks Pub (not that Steamworks Parky) said he thinks it's going to be a big shame when the Whitecaps (and the Lions) move into BC Place and abandon the stadium.

For all the crappy public transit around the stadium, Empire is a fantastic place to watch a match. They even have a roof on their temporary tin can.
