Dunno where to put a thread on this - here looks as good as anywhere.

Los Angeles enjoying most of the possession. Barrett working hard, but still lacking any kind of touch in theside the opposition's 18.

Seattle just found out everything they need to know about O'Brian White. He looks like a defender out there.

Half time : 0-0

LA with the better of the possession and look the better of the two teams, to be honest. No real strikes on goal from them though, other than Beckham's free kick just about on the stroke of halftime.

At the other end Josh Saunders has done well to keep a couple of dangerous shots out. Lucky for him Seattle has Obrian White as well as Freddy Montero, so he really only has half a job to do.

I can just see this game ending 1+1. A goal for LA to reward their overall dominance and hard work, and one for Seattle against the run of play - because they look bound to get one.

1st half impressions.

OB...awful. It should be 1-0 seattle if he had a left foot

CB...his lack of first touch is going to be exposed all year with the talent around him.

Beckham...his passing is off and he seams slow tonight but man what I'd give to have him taking our set plays this year. Damn!!

Other than that this game is a bit of a slow one.

Agreed. I think we could actually compete with either one of these teams based on tonight's performances thus far and they're supposed to be the best in the West!

Beckham has been horrible. Gave up the ball 8 times in a row before breaking his streak by making a crappy pass that was almost uncontrollable.

LA looks like a decent MLS side. Beckham looks tired (noted by the commies), but with the efforts put in by Magee and Barrett it's hardly noticeable.

You have to realize that a lot of these fans have grown up with college sports where this type of atmosphere is mandatory. That's why I think the atmosphere at BMO is that much more special, can't get that anywhere else in Canadian sports.

Most of this game was just players playing triangles off one another; most of the passing was pretty pointless, and the goalmouth action came from long shots, crosses.

Anyone watch the highlights on MLSnet? I effing hate one of the announcers - clearly exemplifies the lack of footie IQ of people in the industry down south.

When Montero has 2 or 3 options to put in a killer through ball, he blasts from 30 yards. Nice shot, but the announcer proceeds to give him fellatio and rave about how 'that's what designated players are supposed to do'. Fake turf and all, I'd rather have players who want to link up and play good football.

I can't say I know the announcer's name, but I can't stand watching MLS games because of him. We need to start a campaign this year against this crap because it's what's holding US soccer back..

Sure.

What else is a DP supposed to do but take cracks at the net. Montero is a striker. He is paid to score. If you don't shoot you don't score.
I don't think it was that terrible what he said.
