In the final match of the preseason, I hope Winter will dress our best starting 11 (injuries aside) so we can get a glimpse of the team that will open the regular season against Vancouver.

Hopefully, TFC will earn a positive result today and build some confidence after a disappointing stretch of games recently.

if he doesn't start our best 11, he'd be mental.

i'll be honest, i haven't been able to sit through an entire match yet. i'm hoping to see some glimmer of hope that we are moving in the right direction.

#TFC starting line-up looks like Frei, Garg, Harden, Nana, Yourassowsky, Cordon, Sturg, DeRo, Zavarise, Maicon, Peterson

also from earlier today

Look for more #TFC players in camp to be signed either today or tomorrow.

Good to see, expect a bunch of the academy kids to be finally signed, Oscar seems to be really impressing Winter and company. The group from TFC-A are nicely fitting in, good to see.

My 1st half recap

- Opposing teams continue with the plan to pressure TFC early & high up the pitch. We still do not seem comfortable dealing with that.
- TFC did better weathering the early pressure.
- DeRo made immediate impact coming back into the line-up. He will be key for TFC again this year.
- Yourassowsky canceled his good work with bad plays which resulted in him having to take fouls

It will be interesting to see how Winter asks the team to approach the second half with 10 men.

I have been most impressed with Zavarise. When Yourassowsky was still on the pitch, he used the LB well when he was lent support. Zavarise has shown good awareness of the other players around him too. He had the right idea on one occasion, although the pass was blocked, when he tried to pick out Yourassowsky's run down the left wing. I haven't seen a lot of that from TFC players other than Dero to this point. I noticed that Zavarise was even tracking back to help with coverage, especially at the end of the first half.

Tough to read the game once we went down to 10 men.

What's apparent is there will be no surprises. DeRo will be key. We are lacking depth which will likely result in stretches where we lose games or have a tough time scoring. We will never feel secure we can shut down a game.

This was a better performance than last game, however, that game game was very poor.

So, lot's of work to do. Positives are Cordon looks like his development is coming along. DeRo looks like he has not lost a stride from where he left off last year. Martina could add some spark as well as Zavarise.

Yeah, the game died after the red card was shown. It's disappointing because Yourassowsky was playing well up until the first yellow. Unfortunately, he wasn't as careful as you have to be after the first card and his mistakes were glaring. It's frustrating because there are times when Yourassowsky has made me think that he can help TFC finally turn the corner.

I thought Harden provided poor coverage on both of the DC goals tonight. He's not good enough to be a starter. He couldn't even earn the spot at LB on last year's squad.

The 1st goal was caused by a giveaway by Sturgis and the 2nd goal was Cann's fault, although he shouldn't have been exposed at LB.

Last year, Harden was injured for most of the season. He played well at LB towards the end of the season when he was given the opportunity. He's the best option we have at the moment.

Well, Sturgis gave the ball away near midfield. That doesn't excuse Harden from letting the goal scorer go unmarked. Cann may have made a mistake out wide, but the second goal was scored after the DC player moved into the box. Harden didn't stop the threat in that case either. I didn't see anything different from him last year either. We don't have many options at the back. I don't think Harden is an answer.

Personally, I love it when a goalie does that. Granted, the team must have the technical ability to handle it.

Yeah, except Ajax and Barcelona...two teams that upper management want to become in the future.

They hold possession and mostly through midfield play. The GK is a third option.

Our team is not very good and every year tries to reinvent itself. It is going to be a long season and dont be shocked to start seeing 10-15,000 as the normal amount of people going to games.

^ You mean us 15,000 supporters whom actually know and understand what is going on, and realize it's not going to be a quick fix, that is the trouble with most North American sports fans is they need that quick fix and over inflated score line, eg. never rally understood why a touchdown is 6 points, when the ball is carried into the end zone once, I guess that is really 1 goal, so scoreline is 1-0.

I am in for the long haul, see you in two weeks.

^^ No where near 15,000. I'd be shocked if even 5000 people in the stadium fit the description you mention, I'd guess closer to a couple thousand.

- DeRo made immediate impact coming back into the line-up. He will be key for TFC again this year.

Outside of his contract and ego situation, I'd agree somewhat. Though both his goals came off penalty kicks. Contributions that others are more than capable of making.

I am curious to see:

- whether he has the same "swoon" in which he basically disappeared from June through September of last season.
- how he reacts if we bring in another DP
- whether or not he feeds Gordon or treats him like Barrett 2.0

Should be an interesting season

Yeah, I know. I'm just saying they still do that when they need to.

What's happening with Ashtone Morgan?
I really don't know. I can't say that I saw anything from the Academy players that would suggest any of them should be relied on heavily right now. Play will be different when the games start to count.
