Preseason "friendly" games for the NW trio of Seattle, Portland and Vancouver.

Portland beat the Sounders 2-0 tonight. Kenny Cooper and Perlaza for the Timbers goals while our old friend OB White subbed in for Seattle in the 80th minite.

I know it's a pre-season match, but for all of the talk of the Timbers supporters and the hype of that rivalry, seems pretty low..

I watched some of the stream from the Sounders site. The stream was good quality.

Anyway - they played in the small stadium and like you said it was sold out. Atmosphere looked awesome - tonnes of banners and flags, some smoke, etc.

I think they sold 500 away tickets for these matches ..... just too bad they're a lot more stingy for reg. season matches.

Watching Whitecaps v. Seattle. Atmosphere sounds super loud, and its only a 3,000 seat stadium. Just imagine watching TFC and Montreal in a 3,000 seat stadium, absolutely awesome.

(Seattle just scored its 3-2 for vancouver, crowd goes nuts) For a preseason game. Wow.

I think Vancouver, Portland and Seattle are going to set the bar for team rivalries in the MLS... dare I say for all of sport in N.America.

yes, there is some envy for sure, existing USL base to begin with, not having witless "to busy counting cash to notice" owners and of course The Mo Johnson virus for 4 years.

Definetly for MLS. They were smart enough to bring in Vancouver and Portland to go alongside Seattle. Players come and go, but rivalries are what's going to help the league grow.
