I think we can add him to the pile of other forwards that can't close the deal. To be fair to the guy, he doesn't get much starting time with the first team. I think he and Dichio could still make a decent strike partnership if Carver went back to a 4-4-2.

He's got USL talent but an EPL motor.
It's too bad his effort doesn't rub off on some of our more talented players. It'd be good for them.

4-4-2 agreed...we need two up front instead of just launching balls up the park to Dichio like today......Dichio has no pace and cant run on to balls...he needs a strike partner...

Oh sweet shit this has to stop. Jarrod Smith needs to be STARTING every game. Dichio needs to be selling fucking hot dogs outside. Smith had how many chances out there today in 45 mins. Dichio was the as usual master of heading the ball to the ground or back pass. CARVER PLEASE!!!!!!!!!!!!! Smith is way better than Dichio.

Smith did something today you won't see again in 100 years - he hit the crossbar (hard!) from one foot out

Ok... I wasn't basing my comment on 2 shots. Any forward worth their salt have instinct and luck on their side also (see: Danny Dichio). I am not against Smith by any stretch, I like that he brings pace and skill... I just think that he would be better suited as a winger than an out and out forward.

It's not that he's cursed. It's possible that you can just suck for a really long period of time.

.....but seriously, he has got the potential to be a goal scorer. He needs to get that monkey off his back :taz:

He can't score. Lombardo part two.

If you think he's better than Dichio, get your head examined.

Personally i think Smith is a fantastic player who generates alot of offense... however finishing is not his strong point which is why i think he'd be much more effective as a winger because he certainlly knows how to get forward.
