Mickey Mouse league you say? Balderdash! We're off to Disney to face Orlando City and we can watch it live! Finally some distinguished clubs with tradition!
I think I would've chose to twitter follow this tourney coming up instead of the Turkey tourney.

Hyundai dropping sponsorship over a CEO scandal the same year a tourney they sponsor earns record profit and attendance (U-20). Grow some stones.

That's one very nice looking piece of transportation! Artistry is not dead in the auto industry.

It's nice to see how many headlines there are today. Things are changing for association football in Canada. I suspect the addition of Vancouver to MLS and Edmonton to NASL have the media deciding to put more into coverage.

If KIA and TFC were smart they would let me drive that car ahead of a supporters march to the stadium. That would be some promotion! :)

Wow, the CSA sponsorship story is a pretty weird. I mean, legally, CSA is probably right, Hyundai shouldn't just drop out of a signed agreement, and we all know CSA needs the cash. However, how well does that bode for future sponsorship deals? Especially where CSA has more controversies these days. "Yes we would like you to sponsor us. BTW we're gonna sue your pants off if you try to drop out of the sponsorship early. Yes we would like this to be another multi-year sponsorship deal."

^What's funny to me is that this litigation has far more attention, negative or otherwise, than a CSA firing ever did.

OBW looking like the latest to do very well after leaving TFC  :

http://seattletimes.nwsource.com/html/sounders/2014248309_sounders17.html

Despite not being 100 percent fit, White earned singled-out praise from coach Sigi Schmid after an endurance test. A day later, the 25-year-old finished second to Steve Zakuani in the sprints.
Finally, White proved his mettle on the field with a goal and an assist in his first two training games.
"I think this club is going to have a lot of joy with O'Brian White before the day is over," said Schmid in the first week of camp.
Admiration has continued from Schmid ("You try to bring attention to people who have done well," he said) and all other angles of Sounders FC in the days since, most recently from rookie goalkeeper Josh Ford, a former teammate of White's at UConn.
"He's a phenomenal player and a good guy all-around," Ford said.

Still it's type of stuff that doesn't reflect well on the CSA.

Then we wonder why the CSA can't get sponsorships.

I guess the thing EVERYONE is saying to the CSA is get your house in order and we'll do business. That's the frustrating part. I mean, fans see it, players see it, sponsors see it, yet the tools that run the CSA can't.

Regardless if he does well or not... I won't lose any sleep from losing OBW. He didnt cut it last year in Preki's system (whatever that was) and I don't think he would fit under Winter either. If Sigi can figure out how to use him then kudos.

I think it's more of a situation of the CSA resisting reform as much as possible, changing as little as possible and thinking it's enough to get away with. No more.

Agreed. He was not the answer to our lack of goal scoring (DeRo aside). We needed a better striker than OBW. That said, I wish him well.

Exactly...he was by far the worst dribbler on the team, and that's saying a lot....add that to his non-existent ball control and he wouldn't even have made this years team...well maybe as 5th striker...

Canada U-17 to face Honduras on Saturday

First place in Group C will be on the line when Canada faces Honduras on Saturday 19 February in the 2011 CONCACAF Men's Under-17 Championship. The group match will be played at Catherine Hall Stadium in Montego Bay, Jamaica with a 12.30 local kickoff (12.30 ET / 09.30 PT).
The 2011 CONCACAF Men's Under-17 Championship runs 14-27 February. Four of 12 teams will qualify for the FIFA U-17 World Cup, with the qualification matches set for 22-23 February in the CONCACAF quarter-final stage. Both Canada and Honduras have already qualified for the quarter-final stage, but Group C seedings and Group D opponents have yet to be decided this Saturday.
CONCACAF has announced that a live webstream will be available via www.CONCACAF.com (http://clicktrack.onlineemailmarketing.com/133-p0etf51l-1ehwd-2js7-0BBB23D0--.clk) for all quarter-final, semi-final and final matches. The Canada-Honduras match will not be broadcast, but a live text feed via www.Twitter.com/CanadaSoccerEN (http://clicktrack.onlineemailmarketing.com/133-p0etf51l-1ehwd-350p-BA19F0D3--.clk) will be available starting one hour before kickoff. The post-match report will be available at www.CanadaSoccer.com (http://clicktrack.onlineemailmarketing.com/133-p0etf51l-1ehwd-16p5-CD832833--.clk) with interviews posted in the evening at www.Youtube.com/CanadianSoccerAssoc (http://clicktrack.onlineemailmarketing.com/133-p0etf51l-1ehwd-39eb-AF87822C--.clk) and photos uploaded to www.flickr.com/CanadaSoccer (http://clicktrack.onlineemailmarketing.com/133-p0etf51l-1ehwd-3a2i-A7CD9718--.clk). Additional content will be available via www.CONCACAF.com (http://clicktrack.onlineemailmarketing.com/133-p0etf51l-1ehwd-2js7-0BBB23D0--.clk).
Both Canada and Honduras opened the tournament with victories over Barbados, thus eliminating the Caribbean nation. Honduras reversed an 0-1 scoreline to win 2-1 on Tuesday; Canada scored early and often to walk off with an 8:0 victory on Thursday. Canada needs a win or a draw against Honduras to finish first.
"We know it will be a quality match against Honduras," said Canadian U-17 head coach. "We expect it to be very competitive."
Canada trained on Friday morning in Montego Bay, a combination of recovery from the Canada-Barbados match and preperation for the Canada-Honduras match.
"We worked on a few things in training on which we hope to get better," said Fleming.
Canada was disciplined on Thursday not to be assessed any yellow cards, but Honduras does have four players who have one yellow card from their Tuesday match. It is unclear whether these players will be rested as a second yellow card will draw a one-match suspension.
After the group phase, Canada will play its quarter-final match on 23 February against a team from Group D. Trinidad and Tobago has already qualified for the quarter-final stage, but its group ranking will be determined on Saturday after the Guatemala-Jamaica match. From groups C and D, first place will play second place from the opposite group and second place will play first place.

MLS Rumors is reporting that there were recent talks with Kris Boyd coming to MLS but it's apparently not likely to happen now.
He's the "superstar" player Ive been drooling over the last few seasons who I thought we actually had a chance to sign.
Not the type of player that Winter would be interested in though I suspect.

They are really blowing up that quote from nothing. It was Gerry Dobson who asked him if this is the happiest he's been since coming to Toronto. He almost had no choice but to say yes, unless he wanted more drama.
It's not like DeRo came out and made this statement.

They started him up top with Moreno the game after this piece came out and he tanked, was benched at half.

I think ....the jury's still out. But my suspicion is that he doesn't read the pro game quickly enough or find enough space to be effective.
