First chance to see the new CMNT kit. :prrr:

It's good to see the respect that TFC's players have for Winter & Co. If what they are saying about learning a lot is true, it bodes well for our coaching staff.

Heading to Scallys with the MISSION 2014 banner.
Love footy in the morning.
I hope the CSA finds a 10' piece of rope and a nice big tree somewhere remote.
Do the country a favour.

Though it IS the current lead headline on the Sportsnet website. Does that count for anything 'round these parts? ;)

So is everyone PISSED and screaming that SportsNet hates soccer b/c the Canada match is on "SportsNet One"...???

God knows if TSN put it on TSN2 (which has the same reach as SportsNet One, and currently more subscribers) people would say "TSN hates soccer"...

Just wondering...

Don't see how they could be. TSN wasn't going to pick it up...so having both streaming and TV options is twice as good as what they would have received.

STOP MAKING LOGICAL ARGUMENTS ABOUT TSN! PEOPLE HERE JUST WANT TO HATE TSN IN PEACE, IS THAT TOO MUCH TO ASK?!

(Seriously, fuck sportsnet. I was all excited to watch the match. Cunts)

I have already sent my e-mail to Sportsnet yesterday when I found out the game would be aired live on Sportsnet One instead of the main networks.

I still can't believe they would rather air the looping highlights show then a
live sporting event in which our country is participating in. My e-mail was harsh and direct and hope more people sent in comments.

TSN does not have the rights to broadcast CMNT team games, if they did choose to try to pick it up, the same mess would happen when TSN wanted to air live the MAN U vs Celtic match from the Skydome (rogers centre). Which was Sportsnet blocked via the CRTC because they were going to broasdcast the game on tape delay on Setanta.

I don't follow the line of thinking here.

Canadian soccer fans are use to no coverage. We are happy when any TV station covers a game.

AHAHAHAHAHA you were the guy bitching in the live chat for the game?!?!? Jesus dude. Relax. You had 2 options to watch.

The programming is not chosen around you, myself, or any other soccer fans on this board. It is about economics, and the economics have stated that an overwhelmingly large majority of people who watch Sportsnet from 9:30am-11am would much rather watch the highlights from the night before.

Believe it or not, the honchos at TSN and Sportsnet are not asking what the single guy begging for soccer wants, they're asking what their viewership wants.

Sometimes ppl forget that these networks are trying to run a business. and if you wake up every morning to watch last nights hockey highlights and this morning they got Canadian soccer - that viewer would be pissed. We should be happy the game is covered and we are able to watch it. That was the reason of sportsnet one and tsn 2. to bring more coverage of sports to canada.

Enjoy it.

Cash offer fails to quell women’s soccer mutiny (http://www.thestar.com/sports/soccer/article/935317--cash-offer-fails-to-quell-women-s-soccer-mutiny)

The women’s soccer team decided late last month to boycott international games starting with a Feb. 28 match in Cyprus, after Morace told them she would likely resign because of ongoing issues with the CSA.

'Atta Girls!

That makes me so proud it brings a tear to my eye.
Morace is the best thing to happen to the CWNT in a long time and I'm sooo glad the players are willing to play hardball to keep her.

FUCK THE CSA!!!

Agreed. I'm disappointed since they initially said all regions but this is far better than what I suspect for the Belarus match March 29th.

Sorry Gobi but the full story hasn't been heard yet. Morace asked for $$ that could win them the Womens World Cup. If that's more than the Mens team is getting I don't agree. I of course want both squads to win but one brings far more to the growth of the game than the other and I want the priority there when it comes to funding.

In a perfect world or perhaps in the refomed Canada we may see more in the coffers for both squads. We shall see what develops.
