TORONTO — The Toronto Maple Leafs owner Maple Leaf Sports and Entertainment is teaming with Live Nation Entertainment Inc. in a deal that will see it manage sponsorships and ticket sales for the American concert promoter in Canada's largest city. MLSE said Monday it will sell and handle event sponsorships for Live Nation (NYSE:LYV) as well as ticket sales for the Live Nation-owned Molson Canadian Amphitheatre in Toronto.
Live Nation merged with event ticket seller Ticketmaster last year.

As for this move, I'm a little surprised because the concert industry is in a downturn. And really there are no signs that it will improve. But I guess they just want to make sure they control the competition for the ACC for shows.

It's a little soon to call the sports bar a "massive" success. And Peddie talked about franchising it across the country, so let's wait and see how that works out.

And yeah, as always, what they're looking at is market control - as much monopoly as possible.

The place is packed on game days though. Whether they can franchise it is another story, but it would probably do well.

It wouldn't surprise me if we start to see some of the bars around the ACC close down. A few years after WEGZ opened in Vaughan a lot of the sports bars in the area started to take a hit or close shop.

That was never an official report; just an article from Wheeler, that he heard Daso wasn't going to Turkey & probably was leaving the club.

EDIT: I often wonder why it takes so long to get official news about all kinds of things. I suppose they want to get any related paperwork done before making announcements. In the days of Twitter, that seems to take so long. I dunno, maybe it's the same in other MLS clubs, just that people don't care so much, and there's not as much ado about the unofficial/advance news?

TFC has only confirmed that Dasovic did not travel to Turkey. My guess is that Daso was asked to remain in Toronto to work with the players left behind and he is now considering his options.

JDG must love the new coach's style. This is exactly the type of game they play in Spain. OK, TFC is not Barca, or even Deportivo, but if the players can learn this method, we should see a very technical, beautiful, and hopefully winning game, and JDG should shine.
