I don't honestly know much about Ornoch but am excited none the less.. I mentioned earlier that it will be interesting to see what kind of money he'll be after.. I'm guessing in the 100k-150k range.. I could be way off.

Ornoch was on that China olympic U-23 qualifying team with Nick Dasovic, right?
I watched those games but can't remember Ornoch's style.

^^
Guaranteed 2010 compensation numbers for our forwards in 2010 was (left out Mista)
$212k - Barrett
$133k - Ibby
$143k - Peterson
$93k - Santos
$182K - O'B White*

If he is asking $100 - $150k range that is petty much what most our forwards are getting paid.

He's had 3 caps with the Nats, I believe. Has looked competent. In the Dutch 2nd Div, haven't seen him play but his 9 apps were earned through his quality play. He stopped seeing playing time (from what I've been told) after he made his intentions clear that he wanted to come home.

He's a center-forward who can hold the ball up. Not as good as but style-wise he's similar to Dichio.

And also significantly younger with potential to develop into a player of Dichio's calibre.

I think Andrew Ornoch is coming in for a lot cheaper then you guys expect. I figure he will be in the team making less then 100k and could be somewhere near 60-70k.

Hopefully we have a Chris Wondolowski on our hands...

Some of the V's think he's making somewhere around 100K in the Netherlands, so he's probably coming in at that, give or take 25k.

Ornoch had trained with the Reds last year, should be interesting.

With the stated intentions of having three strikers in the new format, Ornoch will be welcome, I think the dichio comparison has some merit as Ornoch is fairly tall. His experience in the Netherlands will be very helpful with the new team direction. With this signing they will still be short strikers

Forwards, Santos, Barrett, Ornoch

Offensive midfielders that could be also used up front if needed Dero (assuming he returns) Lindsey & Peterson.

I'm not sure the dichio or haber comparison is accurate. Unless I'm mistaken I thought he's more of an attacking midfielder than a centre forward as described. While dichio to me always used his size and seemed a bit lumbering and moving in straight lines, Ornoch appears to move better and seeks out open space.

Two of his goals are on youtube -

Ornoch is something of an offensive utility type in the he can play a number of positions. Should fit into the total football philosophy that the team's embracing.

Toronto FC Academy star Keven Aleman scored a brace for Canada in an U17 series as it came back from a 0-2 deficit to beat Costa Rica 3-2 on Thursday.

^ Interesting! maybe he's one to watch for the future.

Ornoch will be a forward / winger type in MLS, perfect for a 4-3-3. He might be well suited for MLS
