Toronto FC has called a news conference for Thursday afternoon where it will announce the hiring of three Europeans to manage the soccer club.

Former Dutch international Aron Winter is to be named the Major League Soccer club’s sixth head coach in five seasons. He will be the man in charge.

Fellow Dutchmen Bob de Klerk, who has been working with Winter at Ajax Amsterdam, will be named an assistant coach.

Englishman Paul Mariner, who unlike the other two has MLS experience from his days as an assistant with the New England Revolution, will be handling player personnel.

The announcement comes little more than two months after TFC hired former German star striker Jurgen Klinsmann to consult on the overhaul of the club, which has been a box office hit in its four seasons but has yet to make the playoffs.
