Snoop says he'd rather live in South Central LA than Malvern. He'd fear for his life here. Malvern is straight gangsta.

A&E will have a new show in the new year

de ro fiasco, who's to blame de ro or tfc? both of them. (http://www.cruelgeography.com/2010/12/oh-captain-my-captain.html)

but oh well, at least it made them think twice about the second to none dream team of earl/mariner (http://www.cruelgeography.com/2010/12/they-actually-were-going-to-go-with.html)

Haha, true that. Although I'm not as opposed to Mariner as others. He is very well respected by New England supporters...

That's an awful lot of quotation marks in that article, and yet DeRo claims he never spoke to them. Sounds fishy to me.

it is puzzling ... of course, the author could have taken a bunch of actual quotes out of context and put them together in this story

so, did he say these things? the quote suggest DeRo did ... were they given directly to writer in the context of the article? ... DeRo says no

yeah, wearing a realistic hat rather than an idealistic hat, mariner's probably not a bad appointment. certainly not a big name sexy appointment, but probably as good as we'd get.

as for earl, well he can probably do the administrative bit ok, but more than anything i'd like to have someone else in there to act as an extra footballing brain between mariner/whoever and anselmi and co, with the experience, independence and authority to make himself count, and I'm in no way convinced earl or jimmy are that guy.

well that sounds like a fun game. hunt the quote. where and when did dero actually say those things in different contexts that the sun guy put together and sensationalised?

^^^Common sense! hahaha

Wow guys, wouldn't you settle for a little stability right now? a coach, a few players, news of preseason friendlies...you know, football stuff!!!!!

I know I would.

Welcome to T.O Paul, can you please sort some of this shit out? Thank you.

no idea ... pure speculation on my part

maybe it's me trying to give DeRo the benefit of the doubt

Nice blog Duncan.

Actually I pretty much agree with most of it.

I do find it disturbing though that most media outlets and bloggers are forgetting that DeRo sent the Star a direct quote denying he said those things about Malvern.

thanks.

I don't really believe that any article in the sun has more than the smallest bit of truth necessary to avoid a lawsuit, so I don't doubt that that article is massively massively out of context.

it's funny as hell though.

If these are true quotes from him, DeRo is such a self absorbed drama queen in describing Scarborough.... Glasgow is a tougher town !!! The only thing that he has not insulted ( Team Management, MLSE, supporters , teammates ,Captain's armband ) was the city itself. What a guy ! What a prick !

Lots of stuff has happened in the last few days including DeRo denying even speaking to the tabloid Sun making everyone wonder where they got those quote from.

The interview with the Sun prob went like this - "Where yew frum then?" Malvern, a suburb of Toronto. "Nice area?" No, kinda dodgy. (writer scribbles furiously).

The scottish sun is beyond a rag. It makes our Toronto sun look like the new york times. I wouldn't put any weight towards anything written in that paper - especially if it isn't reported in any other papers.

Dave Feschuk writing about TFC is about as credible as Gareth Wheeler writing about cold fusion. Last soccer piece I read from him was about a rainy night game and he bitched about having his umbrella taken away. The Wally Without A Brolly.

But a marginally better option perhaps than Cathole Khelly.

The British press has reported that Mariner, 57, was offered a three-year deal in North America. (http://www.thestar.com/sports/soccer/mls/torontofc/article/914090--reports-say-toronto-fc-ready-to-name-new-coach)
Mariner would be the first major hiring after TFC enlisted Jurgen Klinsmann’s U.S.-based company to advise on improving the team’s overall performance. (http://www.thestar.com/sports/soccer/mls/torontofc/article/914090--reports-say-toronto-fc-ready-to-name-new-coach)
