Undecided.

If I go it will be because I want to go on a RPB journey, and need my football fix. I feel no hatred or anything towards Vancouver, and have no reason too. I dont see this trip being anything more than any of the other road trips.

LOS ANGELES, Calif. - Court records show soccer star Landon Donovan has filed for divorce from his actress wife Bianca Kajlich in Los Angeles.
Donovan, who plays for the Los Angeles Galaxy, cited irreconcilable differences for the split with Kajlich after nearly three years of marriage.
Kajlich currently stars in the CBS comedy "Rules of Engagement."
They were married on New Year's Eve 2006 and have no children together. He states the couple separated in October 2009.
In a statement, the former couple says, "We remain the closest of friends and will always be important parts of each others lives."
Donovan was a key member of the United States' 2010 World Cup team, scoring a goal against Algeria that advanced the team to the second round of play.

I was reading in the Serbian paper today that Partizan Belgrade is playing TFC on February 2nd in Turkey, awesome stuff!

Here's the link that you can google translate :D http://www.novosti.rs/vesti/sport.72.html:312666-Poznati-protivnici-Partizana-na-pripremama so I guess this means TFC is holding part of it's training camp in Turkey.

SSG: Nice:yum:

Teal Bunbury's Decision Hurts The U.S.A.: If he wanted to play for the U.S.A. he would have chosen to play for them and it was his decision to make. If the USSF was thinking about hurting competition within the CONCACAF they would have told Bob Bradley to only select U.S.A. born players. Obviously this decision does not hurt the U.S.A. chances.

USA: Pros
- Selected a player from the Canadian National Program that would decrease the available options for Canada at that position.
- Ensured some depth at the Striker position for the national team.
- Ensured that the players in Europe would not have to travel back to the U.S.A. to play in Continental tournaments like the Gold Cup. So created some depth for the national team.
- Selected another player from the MLS to join the national team. Hense building the MLS credibility and player recognition within North America.

U.S.A.: Negatives
- Rubbing associations the wrong way.
- Negating American born players a chance to play for the national team.

Paul Mariner is a high profile name with a brief, unremarkable track record as a manager with Plymouth and some MLS experience as an assistant to Nicol in New England. While I am underwhelmed by his record at Plymouth he should represent an upgrade over the status quo...

Yes they are. Earl Cochrane let that slip at one of the Town Hall sessions. They are heading out to Turkey in the 3rd week of January, about four weeks from now roughly.

I'm underwhelmed by New England's steadily declining record since TFC joined MLS. I hope we aren't expecting better results here because we have "better" owners. The knock against NE is that they're cheap. Well, do you think TFC will get another DP next season?

TFC definitely spends more than NE though. I mean De Guz cost as almost as much as Juan Pablo Angel. TFC's problem has been signing weak DPs.

NE has never had a DP. That's cheap in this age of MLS.
Yet somehow they still finished above TFC in every season except 2010.

This season they were really hurt by not having Taylor Twellman (retired after being one of the greatest scorers ever in MLS), losing Shalrie Joseph for a part of the season (drug rehab), and losing their starting keeper (Reis) and then losing their backup keeper (Burpo -- broken leg).

What was always impressive about NE was that they could sign players "on the cheap" and make it work. It was the complete opposite of MoJo's work.

I still think we should strive for someone better than Mariner tho.

Bunbury decision hurts the USA?

There are plenty of opportunities for Canadian players to improve their level of play, but the national team is still hindered by a seemingly incompetent administration.

Isn't anyone wondering just what players are making this European vacation? We have no manager, and half a team and they are leaving in 3 weeks or so. Just saying.

3 weeks...

Hmm... that's a pretty short turn around in order to acquire some players and hire some personnel.

Hoping to hear lots of news say, January 10th.

I fully agree with the alarm about lack of gm and coach, but too be fair, I think this turkey trip was always going to be about being more convenient for trialling european players, so I wouldn't expect us to have anywhere near a full squad anyway. trial the euros in turkey, then come back home and trial north american players here and in games in carolinaa etc.

I get the general point made by the Bunbury article, but it massively over-states Bunbury's importance and makes an odd point about the US program...its too good/deep to need Bunbury but not good enough to not need competition in CONCACAF. I doubt the writer would make the same point if Bunbury was better than Landycakes.
