This thread was officially started by someone else and closed by admins. I think this deserves its on thread or at least until I'm finished translating all the comments from the story, since it seems that there is an agreement in place for a loan deal:

......gotta love how the internet makes news from Peru travel so quickly. The funny thing is that all the supporters think alike.:drum:

Original Story: Reimond Manco Could Play In Canada

The president of Juan Aurich, Edwin Oviedo, has accepted the loan offer of Toronto FC for Reimond Manco, which will permit the forward under contract with "El Ciclon" to continue his career in Major League Soccer.

According to sources close to the team "chiclayano"(probably means the region), Toronto FC who plays in the North American league, has reached an agreement with the player and is only awaiting pending approval from (Edwin) Oviendo.

Predrag Radosavljevic, the manager of Toronto FC, known simply as Preki, saw "Rei" (Reimond Manco) play in a 2-0 win for the Peruvian National Team versus the Canadian National Team, and is who approached to have the player join the ranks of his squad.

I'm going to post this as is right now and going to work on the comments from this article which are freaking scarying the shit out of me, think of nickname bombscare and then think of Ron Artest in the same sentence.

One of the comments said, "He couldnt have gone further away like China?"

Yep, we need another midget midfielder who failed in Europe and hasn't scored since 2008.

How about we actually scout players who have not played at BMO. What a sad operation. Their scouting operation consists of watching teams who only play at BMO ??? ...this club is pathetic. This is how they also landed on Vitti, Gerba and DeGuzman.

btw, if you look at the bottem of his wiki, he was subbed on 12 of the 16 games both years, and had 5 assists both years. I remember this guy vs Canada, and i thought he was of the most dangerous players. On top of the fact that we need mid-fielders right now, i think this is a good signing, pending the salary

Posted news on the news thread..

Re: Juan Aurich player.

The link is down now but according to twitter some summaries I'm reading and twitter messages, it would only be a loan.

Manco is a very decent player by Peruvian standards. He comes from a respected youth academy, known around S.A. (Cantolao). He showed a lot of promise early on, I remember everyone going crazy about him a couple of years ago. He was good enough to have caught the eye of PSV (and others) at some point when he was 18.

He's still very young (20). His discipline issues apparently have to do with women (he's married). He was also suspended from the national team for bypassing curfew with ntl teammates in Panama. The media had a meal about this.

For those who understand Spanish, here is a tv special about him when he moved to PSV a few yrs ago:

random plays.. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=e2ZmBh88ueg

He can play as winger/striker/attack-mid. I'd be more than happy to have him, specially on a year loan to see how it goes. The concerns would be adapting to a new country/language.. and the fact that he has a very small frame, will he adapt to the more physical league?. Hopefully he has matured by now as well :(

edit: Link is back up, the article author thinks Preki is still our manager...and the comments are mostly negative towards his personality (immaturity in handling fame/money).

edit: This article http://www.larepublica.pe/15-12-2010/manco-jugaria-en-leon-de-huanuco - mentions that he is also being looked by León de Huánuco, another 1st division Peruvian team, who will be playing in Copa Libertadores next season. His current team's manager has no plans for him in the team so Huanuco is also looking for a loan.
