Rogers Communications

the owners of Major League Baseball`s Toronto Blue Jays are interested in buying Toronto FC.

Toronto FC is owned by Maple Leaf Sports & Entertainment (MLSE) who also own the NHL`s world famous Toronto Maple Leafs and NBA`s Toronto Raptors.

Rogers already own a sports channel called "Sports Net" and have a mass mobile and television empire in Canada.

Owner Ted Rogers died two years ago and now it appears that Rogers is shifting focus to add to it`s sports portfolio.

It is rumoured that such a transaction would cost in excess of 1 billion Canadian dollars.

MLSE may be interested in selling TFC by itself after losing the confidence of the fans after once again hiking up season ticket prices which are now more expensive than watching Manchester United.

Uh, where have you been? There's a huge thread on this already, and they're talking about buying a controlling share in MLSE, not just Toronto FC.
