Even though TFC has a relatively short history, I thought it would be fun to start up a trivia thread where you can post questions, be the first to answer, and learn/remember a few things that have been notable about the club and its history.

To keep it running without confusion, Please post questions with Q# for a new question and post corresponding A# for answers (or quote question).

I'll start the first one, just something I came across today. Hope this keeps rolling and I can increase my trivia knowledge of my beloved TFC

A1.

If you're talking about in regular season play, I believe it was Miguel Canizalez.

TYLER ROSENLUND I am told is the answer. Good work MG42

^I think jloome is right, rosenlund was regular season in 2008 but Lombardo scored in the friendly in 2007

Razcle

Although Lombardo would also be a winner for his goal against Villa (in an unofficial friendly though)

Hah, you didn't say official, you just said at BMO. So Lombardo is the winner, Mr. Equanimity.

I claim second question!

Name the only TFC defender to have played in the USL, the CSL and MLS BEFORE playing for TFC.

Q3. I would love to know this:

Who has been the most successful player to leave Toronto FC in terms of number of league and major cup goals scored with new club(s)

Q2. I would love to know this:

Maurice Edu - Cups

Edson Buddle - Goals

C'mon Razcle, put mine up as an official question:

Name the only TFC defender to have played in the MLS, USL, and the CSL BEFORE playing for TFC.

Razcle

A3. I am going to say Conor Casey with 42 for the Crapids or 10.5 per season

jloome
11-27-2010, 12:50 PM
It's still Edson Buddle, if you're not nitpicky about the term "cup". 42 goals in THREE seasons, or 14 per season, and the Supporter's Shield in 2009.

If you go by "cup" alone, it's Casey.

Current and Past players ? and can the CSL extend back to the the old defunct leagues that the CSL turned into or Only the CSL?

This is a tough one dude. I am thinking it has to be a Canadian due to the CSL and I am thinking it is a player that we called up in a one off situation.

I had guessed either Serioux or Cann but neither apparently.

yeah - it's all coming back to me now... I didn't want to believe it, but I knew in the back of mind it was true. I remember thinking that after this tournament Dale Mitchell was going to take over the CMNT and how gloomy the future looked. Sad days indeed.

I was thinking Huckerby, but that wasn't until 2009 ( I think) and I'm not sure about the Canadian ties bit... really I shouldn't have answered this question then.

Marc Bircham

^ Marc Bircham is correct - His wife who was on WAGS Boutique said something along the lines of Marc wanting to uproot to the MLS and she made the decision for them to say and play at Yeovil.

^ Sam Reynolds - played 2 games as an emergency keeper and last played with Austin of the D2

That was kind of unexciting. I thought we had something like 6-7 keepers our first season.
