Wow, the article "Klinsmann joins the payroll at Toronto FC (http://www.wsc.co.uk/content/view/5896/38/)" is pretty harsh. Not sure why the writer conveniently ignores Klinsmann's apparently succcessful involvement with LA Galaxy -- doesn't fit the point he's trying to make, I guess. Hopefully reality will be closer to what is written in the first comment to that article, by "Toto Gramsciddu":

Oh, please. Klinsmnn's job is finding us a new GM, putting a scouting system in place, and developing a salary structure which isn't based on Mo handing out large checks to whichever player's agent last walked in the room. Pretty simple, beneath the waffle.

Did we need a consultant to do all this, rather than let the ownership just hire a GM and let him get on with the rest of it? Probably. The fans wouldn't trust Anselmi to butter toast at this point. Did it have to be Klinsmann, with his accompanying large price tag? No, but MLSE is sufficiently nervous about fan revolts (esp with the Final in town this month) that they felt it prudent to look as though they were sparing no expense.

Admittedly, there's no guarantee. We shall see I guess. I'm not planning any victory parades yet -- but I'm a bit more hopeful than when it looked like Tom Anselmi & other management at MLSE & TFC would be finding people & making decisions on their own.

We are so hungry for post season action in this city, that we will cling and cheer any change with the most remot possibility of getting us to the elusive 40+ point mark.

Its time for optimizm from the RPB and faith. . really, what other option do we have?

would like to see more from the acedemy and the kids.
In this restrictive league, and the condensed season giving the lads a chance could prove our Ace in the hole. . .

Klinsmann is here to get attention. Our attention as supporters, prospective GM's attention worldwide.

As if we could've stayed status quo and got the same job done. This writer doesn't know enough of our situation here. Hate on, hater.

Do we know enough of our situation? Do we know enough about this deal with a consulting firm? For four seasons we chose to overlook what we now seem to agree was an understaffed front office and lack of a proper scouting system and now we're supposed to be happy the same people who decided to run the team like that have hired a consulting firm that no one else in the league has been interested in since the Galaxy finished with them?

we're supposed to be happy because of the successes/knowledge he has/had as a manager/coach, as well as the amount of contacts/influence he has in teh soccer world

^Yes Ossy. And BR I choose to look at the addition of anything right now as progress. If we can't learn immediately every aspect of our situation I can't assume a change, any change, to be worse than what we had.

Klinsmann!

FUAD?? Really?:D Maybe he gets more playing time or gets trade for a higher draft pick. Hopefully we dont spend it on a 17 year old defender with health problems. Sorry someone had to say it.:picard:

There was a reason why everyone thought that getting Klinsmann even as a consultant was way out of our reach. Klinsmann has exactly what OMY said he has, alot of experience as well as playing experience, and specially success. This is as big and credible as it gets.:scarf:

SSG: This is the girl that you should try and see what her parents look like. Specially the mom. It says she likes "chilly and feta cheese", I bet 10 years from now she will be a correctional officer with a gut that makes her look like shes pregnant all the time. "La Dolce Vida" :fluffy:

I put in a comment that absent Jurgen I don't think TFC would have warranted much comment from WSC, so there's that... lol

I'm surprised he got the call as well...

Perhaps its a 'last chance to impress' call as he's has limited playing time here...

Because he has not been impressive during the minutes he's received...

here.

because hes not first team, only 18 and theres no reserve side. he showed flashes a year or two ago but since then hasnt had any playing time except at practice and the odd moment as a sub. no hes not worth 100k but i wouldnt rush to rid of him if he took a minimum especially as we have the reserve league coming up.
