Shocked And Silenced (http://www.torontofc.ca/news/2010/11/shocked-and-silenced)

The chance of selling MLS Cup tickets to a Yank has just gone down dramatically.

^ plus the Crew have been SHITE lately, they're probably not making it either. ESC would have sent half a dozen buses to TO for sure if RB had made it.

Glum faces around MLS hq today for sure.

Be sure to check out the game tonight. 7pm on CBCBold, which I think is still on a free preview. I have watched the group stage matches and Canada looks good. (in more ways than one!):canada:

indeed. is that something you need tickets for, or you just turn up on the night?

You used to need tickets. Which was a good way to keep the population down. This could be a zoo.

thats the only thing I read in that too. . . .
how many p[eople are going to come here for SJ vs Seattle?

not to mention the fact emerald city joined the league AFTER us, and will be in a final on our holy ground. . . .

go. . RSL?

Yeah - 100% correct...

I appreciate the "free" aspect - but honestly, I enjoyed the 90th minute party not being a zoo or circus of people looking for autographs...

This is just gonna be a madhouse of people trying to crush their way into the pub for a free night...

I had no issues with paying for a 90th minute party...

Keep the pubcrawls free, keep the 90th minute an exclusive event for those wanting to pay for the tix...

What was the turnout at last year's 90th minute part?

I'm guessing they figured that if the charged for it the turnout would suck this year. So they decided to make it free as a sign of goodwill to the fans.

If its crowded so be it.

After the 'Earthquake in New York' I looked at the pairings for the rest of the playoffs. If Col beats the Crew or even holds them to a tie, MLS will have an all West Eastern Final and all West Western Final.
MLS just needs to get rid of the Conference finals.

With NY out, as long as the KKKrew don't win the cup, I'm fine.

First thing I noticed, that will get a different group of people out.

Was talking to different staff over the last few days. Seems they are now doing what they should have been doing day one. Expanding the fan base beyond SSH and the waiting list.

Getting players and the Brand more face time and keep the buzz alive.

Side effect of that I would assume is that they think then the SSH and SG's cant hod them over a barrel when they screw up.

Seattle and San Jose II both joined MLS after Toronto. If these two meet in the final at BMO Field, it would be yet another slap in the face for us TFC supporters.

I don't know how he feels but I do know that I'm not going to buy a curling iron from his garage sale.

Shitty, I was at Grace O`malleys last night and vowed not to go back. 9 O`clock, $5 cover, $6.75 for a rye and coke, gave me the late night menu (which should be from 10-2, says right on it), wouldn't let us run a tab, then she kept clearing our table without offering more drinks. Plus it was a major sausagefest.

I noticed that DeRo or JDG are not there. Funny the two guys born and raised in Toronto are not there.

Perhaps the guys going are the ones we can expect to return.

First thing that jumped out at me when reading about the 90 Minute Party, was where it was not taking place, MLSE's newest darling after being named the Best Sports Bar in North America by ESPN, Real Sports Bar and Grill.

Guess they had their reasons.

I would have charged something like $10 at the door with all of the covers going to charity just to have some sense of crowd control.

I have been to both of the past 90 minute parties, '07 and '09, they had different vibes because of the difference in venue, but overall a good time.

Yeah...Real Sports makes too much money to shut it down for something like this. I've been in that place 4 times in the last month, all at various days and times and it's packed.

I know what you mean, I was their for the Leafs game last week with friends when they played Florida and a few other times and it was packed to the rafters. I just thought with it being quite big you could corner off a section of the place for this without really effecting the bottom line since most people at the 90 minute party would being buying drinks anyway.

Still don't understand why there hasn't been one word out of Klinsmann's mouth about TFC.

But in a year, if we're still unsuccesful there will still be ridiculous comments about how we're 'rebuilding' and that this takes years.

People forget that Salt Lake only joined the year before us as well.

Arguably, though, we may be in worse condition now than an expansion team, at least in one respect: Right now we have contracts on the books that we simply may not be able to get rid of, regardless of the quality of the player. For this reason alone, I am willing to give them one year to rebuild and get the pieces in place.
