LA's Jazic adjusts to new spot

Canadian international returned from surgery to assume position at midfield

CARSON, Calif. -- Last season, Ante Jazic was a consistent contributor for the LA Galaxy, patrolling the left fullback position at The Home Depot Center. This season, however, a Jazic sighting have been a far rarer thing. The Canadian international underwent major ankle surgery in the offseason and has had to slowly work his way back into fitness.
Now healthy, Jazic has earned a place in the Galaxy's starting 11, although at an unfamiliar position. Ruud Gullit has utilized Jazic on the left side of midfield, a role that Jazic has needed to get used to over the past couple of games.

He made some nice crosses and assisted on a buddle goal a few games ago. I thought he was playing fullback who was just making deep runs. Either way he made an impact that game. I am surprised though that he has been playing wing considering how terrible the Galaxy defence is.

Kinda makes sense, as it means they can keep Beckham pushed up and drop back the whole left side of the offense to ensure they've got adequate coverage at the back. We often end out doing the same thing by default because Robert only plays offense (albeit sometimes brilliantly), with Ricketts in the Jazic role.
