Hi, I was just wondering if anyone knows when relocation will take place?

Also, does the option to add seats come before or after relocation?

Which brings about my next question of how can you add more seats if you have relocated, would that not potentially make relocation useless for some people?

Lastly if you attempt to relocate but are unsuccessful during your allocated period is the FO willing to help you relocate afterwards if seats are available?

Thanks for any help.

That's basically a NO... You have your appointment and need to make your move at that time...

That being said, Ticket Reps are good peeps and help you when you ask...

Adding seats is usually after relocation - remember that we have a max of 4 seats per account

Officially, relocation can only be done during your allocated time slot, otherwise it would be chaos for the front office to deal with all the relocation requests. I guess it never hurts to ask your rep though...

I'm not attacking, just wondering.

Its not my problem if they take their sweet ass time doing this, I'm not the one with 5,000+ MLS Cup tickets to sell in a little over 3 weeks.

Yeah, I cannot see this working logistically. Maybe they meant that the dates/appointment times would be announced in the first week of November?

I figure they want to finish relocation by before November 10, the day they are suppose to send out the MLS Cup tickets to season ticket holders.

you will find a lot of people trying to move to cheaper seats or just to a better sight-line in the price point they are already in .. the more expensive the seats the more options are usually available

the way the relocation event works makes it kind of a crap shoot as to what is available ... someone can move right before your appointment and open up seats that someone earlier in the week would not have a shot at

what you cannot do a add additional seats to your package at this event

My appointment has always been during the day.

I do agree that it sucks balls. Especially this year with even less time to pull some magic at work to leave.

I still don't understand why they can't do this over the phone. It would take maybe 5 minutes each. Tell everyone a time they will get called so they are prepared. We know how the stadium looks and which sections we want to move to. We don't need to physically be at the stadium.

This could all be handled through a web application any university kid could build. You can even design it to have appointment times like we do now. A seating plan would show available seats, click to reserve, confirm your relocation, your seats become available for the next time slot.

I have not idea why they do this at the stadium.

Yes!

This is speculation on my part, but I'm convinced they make it a bit of a pain in the ass so that most people don't even bother.

for sure ... i m in the same boat and have been looking for a 2nd pair next to my first for the last couple years... (just don't take mine ;)this year... I'll see ya at the gate on the 2nd @5:30, as well)

jono... I found if you have 2 and want more best to bite the bullet and buy some as a hedge anywhere when you get the chance (was easier on the pocket a couple years ago when peeps would buy anything; last year I ended up just giving a bunch away). The key being you get bumped up the following year to reallocate those two before anyone can then buy another set... Sadly in the reallocation you may never find those perfect seats you want to move to and thus just have to wait until... (a year like this one ;)

Also you can actually have 5 seats total (4 officially) but they have a few groups of 3 here and there and as a result they don't want to split them up... so they will let you buy three on top of your 2

didn't they do this before by sending out emails and then saying the people interested had a window in which they could call TFC for tickets? I forget.

They wouldn't just cold call people on the list, would they?

I would think that as long as yer near the internet and a phone you should be able to make contact with them at the right window.

Give them a call and let them know...

You're a 'potential season seat customer', they'll work with you to ensure you're taken care of...

The ticket reps are very helpful (with things they actually control before someone replies with "they didn't lower my ticket price")...

I received the same email today. I don't think it's a case of "jumping the queue." They probably have at least 5,000 unsold seasons tickets they want to get rid of, and a larger number of MLS Cup tickets. They want to sell as many of those as possible before the MLS Cup. They're just going to have to go through the queue much quicker than in previous years.

Let's see how things work out, especially if most of the seats available to these Gold Listers are very expensive -- including the North End seats after the huge price increase they just imposed on the North End.

phonzo
11-01-2010, 10:22 PM
sooo this is an up sell because if you are interested in season seats you are asked to let them know?

An upsell requires them to be selling you something in order to get "priority" I just see this as more being efficient at selling the damn seats.

That is still cheaper than what I paid for my Ransom pack last year. If you absorb the cost of the empty Marlies seat into my TFC seat. As I recall it worked out to $53-$55 per seat.

I figure that I paid 600-800 more than the guy sitting right behind me in 110, on a season long basis. Unreal.

But how many people who bought ransom packs last year will buy them this year? It would take a lot of arm-twisting to have me buy 6 Marlies tickets I don't want.

does not look like a lot ... but the whole process is flawed anyway

when I renewed last year there were no "cheaper" seats available to move to ... then after the relocation process ended, magically there were all kinds of lower cost seats available for people on the Gold List to buy

And seeing that I am near the end of the relocation appointments that only tells me TFC held tickets back at various price points to sell to the Gold List because they know they would not be able to just sell the most expensive seats

That's a great point, and as someone who bought a ransom pack this season, I can sympathize.

Based on Paul B's pictures of what's available in terms of season tickets, I highly doubt I'll be able to buy for next season. I'm on the gold list, and relocation is just starting. That means that anything I could afford will be long gone by the time I get the phonecall.

I've capped myself at $750 a seat, which means I won't be able to take on North Ends. Maybe it's for the best.

I'm thinking of dropping/ downgrading my seats in 121. I'm loathe to part with them as they're damn good seats but I just can't justify the $$$ when I have to give a number of them away.

I'd like to downgrade, but think I'll wait until my rep tells me how it will be handled. I can see MLSE allowing people on the waiting list to fill the cheaper seats to leave the expensive seats filled once they have us on the hook.

The biggest scam here is that partial packs are given to people in some of the cheaper and most desirable areas and are not offered to loyal ssh's who are looking to relocate. Why should a partial pack holder get better seats than someone that's been a loyal ssh for years? Will be a sticking point for me at th next Town Halls.

BINGO! Also it would take a hell of a selling job to sell prawnie seats to someone and say to them, oh, by the way, you need to buy 6 Marlie tickets too. That'll be $900 for 6 games please.

Believe me.......I get it. Lower 110 and parts of 111 are used for these packs and it actually hurts the atmosphere. It's great to show newbies what it's all about but reality is they are not likely ever going to sit anywhere near those seats if they move up to ssh's and effectively we now have a bunch of people who just snag the partials without Marlies because of the great seating. It BS and I am going to call them on it. While it may have started off as a marketing ploy, it has turned into an opportunity for return partial pack holders to acquire cheaper, premium seats and it comes at our expense. Big issue for me. Anyways.......let's see how things go.

MLSE states they offer the Partial packs so more people can see the games. But when I buy all 3 partial packs to give me a full season - how does that benefit anyone else? It only benefits MLSE pocketbook because I have now purchased season tickets (via 3 partial packs) for a much higher price and with no access to discount card, no scarves, no goodies, etc.

SuperTCP
11-02-2010, 10:27 AM
Elimate the partial packs and ransom packs, just offer as season tickets. I know a few people, that can either not afford a whole season or cannot attend a whole season but would rather purchase a full season and then split it up themselves with friend/relative rather then purchase the partial pack and a higher price.

just wanted to mention to anyone that might be worried about later appointments in the week, luck is a big factor as well. during relocation prior to season 3 i had 108s at the top which are dark greys and I was able to relocate to 117, going from about 1900 for the pair down to 550 or something like that, all because they became available during the prior appointment. so although 117 might not be 112/113, i saved 1500 bucks!

I am wondering this too....anyone know? I know the seats are expensive but for anyone like me in the Dark Grey Deadzone its could be an improvement. Seats don't just magically appear. If I trade my seats in 120 tomorrow, those on Thursday will have a chance for those newly available seats. Those that had their appointment on Tuesday did not have that option. Why is that hard to understand? There's nothing magical about this process.

If you go to the grocery store at 9am and the shelf is empty, but you show up the next day at 9am and the shelf is full, maybe the store was re-stocked overnight. The cereal didn't just magically appear. wtf???

alex andrew
11-02-2010, 01:54 PM
Where would you buy one now?

one of the reasons i'm pretty sure that it will sell out, is that they stressed out that today is only relocation, you are not allowed to get extras.

if they were desperate, they would have said ok, he who wants can get an extra one.

although i don't need an extra, i am convinced i would have been weak and say.....why not ? it's just a credit card, i'll deal with it later.

so, to answer your question, something tells me that if you contact your rep after the relocation, he'll find one for you.

especially since we're talking singles, singles are a hard sell.

I was in at mid-day and there were seats available in 113 to 118. Only a couple in 113 though. 2500 seats in all including 600 in the north end. THey did not include the entire north end though which wasn't included in last years package at all. Only seats that have been given up are available for relocation at this stage. I'm not sure how quickly your own vacated seat becomes available once you get your new one but it was apparent that the next group were in selecting while the first group were being processed so the second group wasn't getting the 2nd best shot if you see what i mean. No doubt this effect will get worse as time goes on. You can't leave singles so if there is a group of three you can't take 2. Its either one or all three. You get your old seat as the MLS cup seat.
Surprising availablility in some sections.125 had about 100. 123 had about 50. SO that must affect the balance sheet at the end of the day.

Yeh I can confirm having attended the 1 pm slot today, there was nothing available in either 112,113, 127, which surprised me after last year where I counted about 30 available in 127 including 9 in a row. But the after hearing the story of them being held back I understand.

I relocated for the third straight year, having moved from the top of 111 to last year being in 119 to now going to the 200 level, where I will be in the fourth row of 227, I just decided I wanted a higher sight line and also found 119 to have a weird vibe, it just did not know what it wanted to be, people sitting, standing, etc. Also the buddy who I share the tickets with has to sit for health reasons.

I'm in 227 row 3, it's not bad there at all, you get the benefits of nee's atmosphere while being able to sit and watch the game comfortably.

I was at the 12:30 scrum. We were told that there were certain seats available in the south end supporters sections that were being held back pending discussions with the supporter's groups - specifically RPB and U-Sector. The rep was also quite pleased that they had been able to get a block of 40 seats back from one of the scalpers, mostly located in 124.

If I recall correctly, the big chunk of tickets available in 127 last year was due to a group either moving or giving up their seats. Also, I think it was right after the first year of 127 as a supporters' section, so that may have influenced it too. I am sure fewer people will be giving up their tickets this year, regardless of any holdback...

I've had my seats in Section 116 since season one and the atmosphere in sections 115-118 has been going down hill this season and last season. I plead with people in the Red Patch Boys, anyone from U-sector who reads this and even loud hardcore supporters to please locate to these sections. We need to make sections 115-118 like the ones in 110, 111, 112 and 127 so we have a united SUPPORTERS SECTION.

To Boris, please ask Paul if he can make all seats from 110-118 supporters sections because they are supposed to be.

Thanks

Oh yeah, if you relocate - you still get your ORGINAL SEATS FOR MLS CUP

So Gold Listers who buy Season Seats may not (will not?) get their MLS CUP seat in thier Season Seat.

If a SSH moved from 108 to 117 they get 108 for the MLS CUP

If gold lister then buys the 108 seats I wonder where their MLS CUP seat will be?

Hopefully a cheaper MLS CUP seat all result in a lower price for the Season Seat package.

Last season I had three partial packs which actually covered the whole season but I did have to pay an extra hundred or so. Hopefully this year I can get seasons in either the supporters section (doubtful) or light greys.

Pretty Crazy how 117 had a LOT of seats available.

I made a minor move.
I went from 116, r17 to 115, r20....Dead Centre of the section.
I'm pretty confident that these are the best seats for actually watching the game in the entire south end.

Also, i no longer have to deal with the douche beside me.
although, my fiancee and i are sad that we are no longer with English Rachel.

Ok, this is simply stupid.

I am a Gold-Lister and I imagine I am fairly close to the top of the list. I also want to go to the MLS Cup this year.

So next week I will get an appointment where I may or may not get to buy Season's Tickets. But, this Friday the tickets to the MLS Cup go on sale to the public.

So, I can buy tickets on Friday to make sure I can go to the Cup and then probably have to buy a second set when I get my Season's Tickets. Or, I can take my chances that I will indeed get Season's Tickets and get my seats to Cup that way. But what if the only Season's Tickets that are left are out of my price range? Then I can only hope there are tickets to the Cup left by next week.

I just love it. They bump up the Gold List window from Dec to mid-Nov so that we can be forced to buy the MLS Cup seat and then put the MLS Cup seats on sale just before we find out.

I've never used this before but.... ::picard:

Just...wow. MLSE never ceases to amaze. The only bright side with all of that is that there will likely be a large number of people selling their MLS cup tickets on this board. It'd wait, take my chances with seasons and worst comes to worst come on here and pick up some tickets (probably at less then face). But maybe that's just me.

Realy quite fast...youcan arrive say 15 mins early they let U in, U can glimpse the stands while U congregate in the meeting rm under north stands...short info session on proticol....then approx 10 mins to search the stadium, until horn blasts, then U can pick your location sheets and go to meeting room......where they computerize transaction....quickly....I was out of there it seems less than 30 mins, could even get it done in 20 mins

If its true that the front office is holding tickets for 112 for RPBs, then thats pretty cool. Any idea of how the RPB pecking order works for getting tickets? Is one paying member further up the chain than another? Perhaps a random draw?

I managed to move down a few rows in 111, to row 23.
Just in terms of yellows or light grays: At 6pm there were still plenty of seats available at the top of 110, a few at the top of 111 and lots in 117-119.

it's a bit of a shitshow really isn't it. they were already on a tight timeline, I can't imagine they were happy about having to extend the deadlines for the renewals to be done.

I'm sure it'll all work out one way or another, but there'll definitely be a few people who end up getting screwed in the process.

Yes. Yes it is. I guess we all got the presale email yesterday for advance purchase of cup final tickets today... but as it has been said, what if my intent is to pick up Season's Tix ? I'm not going to buy Cup Final tix now with that in mind.

However, when the time comes to see what meat is still on the bones at BMO it'll likely be beyond my budget.

Fcuk it. I'll take my chances. I'll likely end up with partials again for next year and no ticket to the MLS Cup dance, but so be it.

Bizarre ... Gold List get's a chance to buy seasons tickets including MLS Cup next week ... but we're supposed to buy single tickets to MLS Cup today?

I wonder if you can buy them today and get a refund against ST costs next week ?

I would think that the MLS Cup tickets that are up for grabs right now are the ones associated with seats for partials/ransom packs. After the relocation event and new STH process goes through, I wouldn't be surprised to see "A new block of tickets has been released!"

I spoke to a ticket rep about the 'MLS Cup on sale now vs buying as part of the Season's Ticket window for Gold Listers' issue. He kind of acknowledged that it was bad timing. He said that there are likely enough Season's available for the whole Gold List. He also pointed out that the MLS Cup tickets would be on the Ticket Exchange so if all else fails we could pick some up there.

Buying them today will not count towards your Season Seat Package so do not buy them unless you want extra seats/won't be buying Season's.

Does this mean you get to pick more than one seat and they run it through the computer and you get your top pick only if you are ahead of someone else otherwise you may get your second / third/ fourth pick?

If memory serves: During the first time window, you are only supposed to browse the seats and find the spots you like. When they blow the first horn I think you are able to select the seat by removing the tag. If two or more people want the same seat(s) then it goes by priority number. The horn is sounded one more time to signal the end of the session...

Hey those seats in 110 Row 33 1,2,3, belonged to me from day 1.... decided to move to a seated section for next season yesterday at one of the early relocations. Take good care of them + it really is a great group of guys up there led by Drummer Sparta directly in front of you. Sorta of nice to know where they ended up!!!

That's great...in fact my original seats are just across the aisle from Sparta so we are already very familiar with the group in the area...I believe we will be right next to TFC Buffalo and the 75 mile bastards too. Don't worry we will take very good care of your old seats.
Where did you move to?

Yeah that sounds right, I think I read that last year. Thanks.

You are right JonO. One thing I got burned on last year though...you have to trump people for the seats prior to the horn. Once the horn blows and someone grabs a sheet from the seat you can't run up to them to trump them at that point. Last year I had a guy come running at me after the horn went and I had the papers in my hands already saying that he was going to pick up the seats I had but he was looking in another section when the horn blew. I only went to those seats because that guy had left. Since he had a lower number than me I assumed that I would lose the fight for them so I gave them to him and grabbed some 10 rows back. Turns out once I talked to the reps they said that whoever has the papers after the horn blows owns the seats and you can't trump them at that point. I was pissed. I asked the guy to do the right thing and he wouldn't. Nothing I could do at that point. The guy knew he was being a douche but didn't care. Lesson learned.

Geez, I'm hoping to get a spot around there. well if not I may just move my seats to were you had your old ones, like that I'll be right on the isle and closer to your new seats.

Sounds like a good plan. When is your relocation?
