OK - I just checked my in-box - there is no change in MLSE stance on season tickets, so the gloves are coming off....

FREE BEER!

BURN YOUR MLS-CUP TICKETS Video Campaign!

The concept is a series of You-tube 15-45 second sound-bites protesting the greed in the continuous 4-year hike in ticket prices, culminating in the current "greedy" pack being shoved down our throat.

Dan Garber flew into Toronto yesterday and tried to smooth things over - you know why? Because a set of protest videos like I am suggesting is totally uncontrollable by MLSE, MLS, the city of Toronto or the Teachers of Ontario. It is this type of revolt that he knows could happen and is trying to squash... MLSE is so oblivious, they deserve to reap the whirlwind!

This is the perfect type of protest! It is visual, and fits in small media soundbites! We can start it now and have a whole series to get the point across! We have a whole month to pump these out - the first wiff of media exposure on this one, will send the BURN YOUR MLS-CUP TICKETS viral. The Toronto newspapers, CBC and the NY Times are all primed for more news on this issue right now - lets throw a can of gas on the fire!!

Can you imagine the humour and the bite that these video shorts can have?

I will buy beer at Joes for the best video submitted to youtube by November 10th. In order to collect the beer there must be at least 10 "burn mls cup" videos on Youtube by November 10th. The video must be searcheable by "burn mls cup" on youtube. Please keep in mind that the videos should be short, kept factual, be careful not to slander!!, and try for humour and BITE! Possibly we could vote by poll for the best video right in the forum... Surely Pookie, Ensco and all of the other creative geniuses can run with this baby.

Here are 4 ideas I just came up with in 15-20 minutes - you get the idea!

Video #1
<Cut to a guy in green with RPB Dichio scarf - the narrator says:>
<Don Garber the president of Major League Soccer says:> Toronto have the “Best Fans in the World Ever in History"
<Narrator> He is right! Toronto Soccer Fans - we are leaders, we are models. We are worth it - we deserve respect! Unfortunately many Toronto FC fans feel abused by shoddy, greeedy and inept ownership who have increase ticket prices 75-100% over the past four years! If you are a soccer fan and you have ever felt abused by a hike in ticket prices please join Toronto FC fans to protest the total lack of respect given to all fans in Major League Soccer by BURNING YOUR MLS CUP Ticket! <Green RPB with Dichio scarf starts to burn ticket - Close in on ticket being burned with RPB chanting in the background> Say enough is enough - burn the MLS Cup!

Video #2

<show 5-6 year old kids having a ton of fun playing soccer> <Cut to our best clips of the boys playing on BMO field> <cut to our best clips of the RPB cheering and chanting> <freeze the shot> Narrator: everyone should be asking the teachers of Ontario - Why do some soccer fans feel that the teachers of Ontario are destroying the game of soccer with their unmitigated greed? BURN YOUR MLS-CUP ticket today if you feel the Teachers of Ontario are too greedy. Ontario Teachers should be ashamed of themselves! <end with RPB booing and ticket being burned>

Video #3
<the wind is howling, the snow is blowing - a regular artic blizzard - perhaps some shots of the Toronto snowstorm of January 1999>
<Narrator> The MLS Cup is being hosted in the great white North on November 21st 2010. Do the teachers of Ontario and the owners of the Toronto FC deserve this privilege? Why in the world is the MLS Cup being host in Toronto while quite a number Toronto FC fans are feeling abused by a shoddy, greeedy and inept ownership who have increase ticket prices 75-100% over the past four years? There are five good reasons why you don't want to come to Toronto for the MLS Cup:

1. <show blizzard weather again> The weather - it can be bloody cold - why sit in open stands, in a snowstorm, with it 10 below zero and the wind is howling off of the lake? Without your touque and mucklucks, you might freeze to death, eh?

2. <show scenes from G20 violence + scary Officer Bubbles> Did we mention Toronto can be a scary and violent city?

3. <show scenes of homeland security body scans and someone about to have a cavity search> Why subject yourself to all of the hassles at the border? Body scans, cavity searchs and heaven help you if you didn't bring your passport?

4. <show a close up of a nasty little bed bug> Did we mention the bedbugs yet?

5. <show picture of little kids playing soccer> The most important reason not to attend the MLS Cup is that you believe enough is enough - You want to stop the destruction of the game of soccer in Canada - BURN YOUR MLS CUP TICKET!
<end with ticket being burned>

Video #4

<show kids playing soccer> Some have said that the teachers of Ontario appear to be destroying the game of soccer in the great province we live in - ask a teacher at your school: "Why are you allowing your greed to destroy soccer in Ontario"
<show video of Danny's goal> Perhaps we should ask Mike Harris to come back and straighten out those teachers again! - BURN YOUR MLS CUP TICKET! <show ticket being lit up>

(OK - I have to admit - that last video is below the belt - I like teachers a lot, I respect what they do, day in, day out - that being said, it appears that the OTPP will stand idle while the Toronto FC goes down the drain?)
:drum::flare:
Beer at Joes for the best video - let the cameras start rolling!

What are teachers gunna do about tfc? They're busy dealing with 30 or so kids every single day, 100 in highschool. Why would they care how a soccer team is being run? Yes it's a waste of their pension but they've wasted more on the leafs anyways.

Totally wrong. The Teachers' Pension Plan has made a TONNE of cash from its interest in ML$E.
