You know it's interesting, Gargan made the point of saying positive things about preki (and he said valid and good things) but it's interesting that everyone as a whole has said there is less stress now..

I'll be interested to see how this game goes.. too bad I'm at work till 6 :(

I believe that today is the first time 2 Canadian coaches will play in Toronto in an MLS.

There could be a few reaosns for this...

Gargan might just be a really nice kid (seems like it when I've spoken to him) and doesn't really say bad things about anyone...

Or, perhaps he's thinking career. Preki will probably land somewhere else. Gargan has a long career ahead of him - no reason to burn a bridge (especially since Gargan is a Preki type player, hardworking get stuck in defender)...

As the old saying goes about things in the media, beleive none of what your read, only a bit of what you hear, and half of what you see.... ;)

If Gargan doesn't have a personal issue with Preki, there's no reason for him to talk shit about him after he's been fired. Assuming he's happy here, maybe inspite of other things he's greatfull that Preki brought him to Toronto.

In the Hands of the Soccer Gods Now (http://tfcteens.blogspot.com/2010/09/in-hands-of-soccer-gods-now.html)

"Obviously Toronto FC is looking for a home win against San Jose. What Toronto FC needs to be looking for, however, is a comprehensive win. The team desperately needs a 3-0 showing, with goals coming from names that don’t end in “Rosario.” They need to dominate and control the game, defend properly when needed and show San Jose that Toronto is a team to be reckoned with. A total team effort will keep Dasovic’s boys confident and hungry."

if i were a coach, no matter where I go, there'd always be a place for Dan Gargan. Even if it was just as a super sub.

or maybe, just maybe, he actually believes what he said. Preki's style clearly isn't for everybody, but to suggest that absolutely nobody could have actually appreciated it, so anyone saying something nice must have an ulterior motive is a bit much really.

and gargan, as you say is a preki type player, so why wouldn't he genuinely appreciate what preki did?

I liked what he said, about preki's instilling that hard working defence first mentality into them that is still there. That's really what we needed and what I hoped preki would do, get us playing tough, hard to score against, then once that attitude is there, it can be built upon with an opened up offence, or more talented players. whether preki could ever have done the second part of that, who knows, but I'm very happy he got the chance to do the first part, hopefully it really does stick with the team for a long time.

I'd take that not out of there if I was you. a team to be reckoned with is a good thing.
