He may be at New York now, but many of us still love Robbo.

There was sad news the other day as his dad died:

He was 58.

His twitter account is: http://twitter.com/carlrobinson33 (for those of us on twitter)

Terrible news.
And his dad was still very young.
I know how difficult that can be.
My thoughts go out to him and his family.

That is really tough.

Makes me think about what happened after his goal here. Remember he simply stopped, and put his head in his hands? We thought it was about his unwillingness to celebrate here, but I wonder if the bigger reason was that his Dad had just passed away.

EDIT: I see below this is not the case. No need to discuss.

Robbo Sr. fell ill after the NYRB match. His celebration was out of respect for all of us, and a classy move.

It's unfortunate news, however it's a bit old as well. If I remember correct, his father passed a week or so ago.
