Surely not the $400K+ that was listed in the media? Please say it ain't so.....

The media have also been claiming Mojo was with the team for "3" years, and other things. Just ignore the media. When it comes to Footy they either dont know, or dont care

he was only on the team for 5 games before leaving the league. TFC could not have paid all his salary that season. LA would have had a much larger portion.

It might have been prorated at $400k.

His total salary that season was 460,000.
He came to TFC with ten games left in the season.
TFC probably paid about a third of that (10 of 30 games).
Thus TFC paid about 151,000 for him. (well, MLS paid it, but it was added to TFC's salary budget).
The original article by Ives Galarcep on the trade said it was 120,000 and 2 supplemental draft pics.

yeah but funny thing is...Carlos Ruiz just scored the two goals that got Aris Thessaloniki (5th place Greek League) into the group stages of Europa League and is a regular starter there this year...

Makes you scratch your head at another player who left Toronto to be successful elsewhere

^He clearly didn't want to be in Toronto, so there's not much you can do with a player like that. The games he played he just dogged it.....and for all the shit that Mo got for getting rid of Connor Casey, remember Casey was whining all the time and wanted out of TO as soon as possible...I don't blame Mo for getting rid of him..

Big difference IMO leaving a team and leaving a league. Leaving a team is a marginal level of difference in talent and more about a different system. A different league can mean a different style of play and level of talent to work with.

Not a big deal but I wouldn't compare Ruiz to Cunny.

Well I miss the Carlos Ruiz era, I thought he could have really turned it on with a full season here and he was kind enough to sign my two photos, so he is one of the good guys.

lol @ Ruiz

The only memory I have of Ruiz is when how he got subbed in then few minutes later got subbed off in a same game (I think it was against San Jose).
