According to the blog Inside Minnesota Soccer, which is a very reliable news source, Jeff Cooper, the owner of AC St. Louis, will sell his D2 team and Anheuser-Busch Park where the team plays to, as yet, an unnamed buyer who, according to their sources, doesn't have a soccer background but has deep pockets.

It's also been stated that the potential new owner has designs on getting an MLS team for St. Louis in the future.

I wonder if this is the same owner of the late St Lois WPS team that just folded.
Somehow they can't support Futbol there.

Spoke too soon:

and it gets even worse according to a ACStL supporter:

The 2 front office staff individuals I spoke with at the game last night are still concerned that no additional investors have been found yet and they think it's very possible that Oct. 2nd will be in the end. Obviously they hope for the best, but fear the worst.

St. Louis has such a great soccer history. Unfortunately, with no strong investor willing to show up, it looks doubtful that any pro team will continue. Sad.
