It'll probably be 95 degrees at game time. We've always excelled in the extreme heat.

If the assumption is that TC has little to no chance here all things being equal I say roll the fucking bones and go with this formation.

We can't get shit from this game without trying.

Every TFC game in Dallas has been a boring, empty-field loss in baking heat. A point would be a welcome surprise. My only Dallas road memory is Andrea Lombardo skying a breakaway over the bar, then getting substituted by a disgusted MoJo, which effectively ended Lombardo's TFC career.

But this assumes you are going to leave Frei in net. Fuck it, pull the goalie NHL styles.

As for this game, Dallas has been one of my favorite teams to watch this year and Ferreira has become one of my favorite players to watch in the MLS. I may just root for Dallas in this one. It only gets us one step closer to firing Mo and starting the rebuild all over again, for the 5th time in 5 seasons.

Just when everything seems bleak, some good news:

Saturday afternoon’s draw at Columbus was full of positives for FC Dallas. But that tie against the Eastern Conference leaders also had two pretty major negatives as two starters, right midfielder Atiba Harris and captain Daniel Hernandez, both got their fifth yellow cards of 2010 and will now miss Saturday’s visit from Toronto FC on suspension.

Harris has three goals and one assist this year but has made countless contributions off the ball this year for FCD. On Saturday, he had a huge goalmouth block in the first half to keep the match scoreless.

And Hernandez’s absence will loom even larger. The feisty veteran sets the tone for his club in the middle of the park. He also had played every minute of every game, one of just five position players in MLS to do so. That streak will come to an end this weekend and FCD head coach Schellas Hyndman knows replacing two starters is always a tall order.

Well let's see...on the road with our 5 best starters out of the lineup against a top western conference club. I'll be surprised if the game is worth watching after the first half.

If TFC had a full squad going into this match I would be genuinely optimistic but injuries and the lack of MLS recognition of the FIFA calendar have left us with virtually no chance this weekend. I'll be shocked if we pull out a draw...

I don't like our chances. Our road form is terrible, and having to play without our very best players won't help. But still, we have to try for points - so hopefully the replacements will step up big time.

Honestly, if we draw every single of our 6 road games, that's a fair deal that I wouldn't sneeze at.

I'd rather forfeit this game than possibly watch Cuntingham score a winning goal.

Rooting for a draw because a win is out of the question.

This is it...

The dog day's of TFC's summer are over.
Our squad will be missing our best.
We need to find a way to get points away as unlikely as it may be.
Our playoff hopes lie in the balance of the next couple of matches.

Not sure who's going to bring it this weekend, be we will all be watching and waiting for another TFC miracle.

Come on you REDS...

We definitely need three points in this game, though that's certainly easier said than done. Dropping points every week is driving me nuts.

good news about Santos:

Still unable to field its top offensive lineup either because of injuries or circumstances, it appears Toronto FC will at least get one key attacker back Saturday in Dallas.
Striker Maicon Santos, injured in a 2-1 win over Chivas USA on August 7th, said Tuesday he feels good and is itching to return.

Good news regarding Santos but I don't think it will be enough to earn a result in Dallas.

On another note, Dallas must have one of the worst logos in all of professional sports. It reminds me of Boss Hog's Cadillac from the Dukes Of Hazzard...

If the IOC convinced the NHL to lay down for the Olympics, then there should be a way for MLS to compromise with FIFA international dates. Unfortunately, in practicality, it's not so easy. Players, coaches, owners, advertisers, etc. all have to agree on a single clause, and in the world of North American sports, that is a gargantuan task.

I think a win.

The team is all 'loosey-goosey'. They are anointed to lose. There is no one to rely on. TFC, and teams in general, play better when there is nothing to lose. They also play better when there is no one to rely on to save them. At least TFC seems to.

Watch for lesser-lites to create some good play's.

TFC heads to Dallas A Few Players Short

http://viewfromthesouthstands.com/2010/09/tfc-heads-to-dallas-a-few-players-short/

Yes TFC is the underdog tomorrow in Dallas, but there is still a path to success. I make four suggestions to Preki that may give TFC a chance to pull off a big upset.

Comments are always welcome.

This game feels like the Chicago one from last year, although that one was at home. No regular starters, Guevara and Ricketts really, but hard work and good team play gave us the 3-2 win! :D
