and what do I notice - some bastard seagulls are divebombing our hawk!!
This one bird kept flying by and coming within a few feet of the hawk,
then pulling up at the last minute - knowing that bitchy is powerless to fight back.

It's shameful. So I think that we need to either give Bitchy a longer tether
(admit it, we all want to see her kill a bird, or just attack Frankie Hejduk's hair)
or someone should climb up on the roof with a BB gun and lend the hawk a hand.

At the airport they use a Falconer (if that is a word)... a guy drives around the airport and when he has located a gathering of birds he sends his Falcon out. The Falcon chases the birds off the property and then returns to him without a tether. Like that it allows him the freedom to chase and not get teased. I don't know how expensive it would be but they have had it for years at the airport and I guess it's cheaper then a plane going down. The Falcon just chases the birds, doesn't kill it, so for people who worry about those sort of things, don't worry it's humane.
