the weekend was a blip. a bit of stagnance crept into a positive group. NE is too big an opponent to take lightly which is what I thought they did with KC. The starters will all play. The mood will be one of proving their place in the top of hte standings. I'm not concerned with attacking our coaches policies when he's taken us this far...

It will be at least a tie.

With our best starting lineup, I have no doubt we can beat any team in the league at home or on the road...

Is it possible that Carver benched our starters last game to get them motivated for our next road trip?

i agree 8-0 win over NE, Dichio with all 8 before he's subbed off in the 8th minute

well, it is a road game on fieldturf, so maybe that'll make them feel at home ;)

Nope
I think we'll lose both...and the aggregate will be 1-4.
I do think there's a chance we'll score an away goal though.

ummm...I predict two ties in NE and Chicago. I would actually be quite happy with that result. I would be extatic if we accomplished anything more.

Absolutely not. They were exhausted from their international duties.

What ever Carver's motivation for benching the starters, I'm sure that the starting 11 in this weekend's game will come out with the bit between their teeth. 2-1 TFC.

A tie would even be a great result on the road in New England. I expect a big fight out of the boys this week after the lackluster display this past weekend.

I have no idea what to expect. As the kind of rationalist/agnostic type who generally keeps passionate fervor out of this stuff, I look at our lineup and the skill sets of our players, then look at most other teams in MLS and wonder how we don't win every game walking.

Really, DC is the only other team with our depth and skill level. Houston and Chicago have most of the skill level issue taken care of, but no depth. Ditto with New England. Columbus has some skill in Schelotto and Rogers, but plays with no intensity; and again, it lacks the depth.

But our big issues continue to be motivation -- this team is waaaay too overconfident, probably for the same aforementioned reasons -- and scoring; the 4-5-1 really has to be more of an attacking 433 with Guevara right behind the lone striker; he's played too dropped back so far.

We're one striker from being a team that could win the whole thing. I don't think that's a clouded, fan-fervour perspective, just a simple player-by-player comparison with the rest of MLS.

two loses by a combined score of 5

kidding :) based on the road form though I think 2 or 4 points would be more than positive. Side note, will the McBride deal be done in time for Chicago? Possibly just before as in the striker coming to TFC shows up and his keycard only works for the visiting locker room?

He gets sent off in the 8th minute with 8 red cards.

He gets the 8 red cards, cause "8" the Rev's keeper's liver with some fava beans and a nice bottle of chianti.
