From what I hear they are flying into a private terminal so we won't be able to meet them at the airport.

I'm trying to figure out where its best to meet them. When we find out, one of us will post it up.

Ya, probably the north terminal on Vanguard but who can say for sure. It's the wedge shaped building. I doubt the Blue Angels will be there to greet them unlike in the link.

I didn't see any signs of the team.
there was a lot of security there, for something else...not sure what was going on.

Havent heard anything.

They had that nice 4 to 6 hour bus trip followed by the flight.

Anytime between 6 and 10 (possibly later) this morning.

Unfortunately I can't make it this time around. Too bad because I had a lot of fun last year welcoming the team after the Miracle in Montreal.

To all those going, show the boys some love.

yellowfellow
08-04-2010, 10:26 AM
I just asked him how it was like down there. He just shaked his head and said "It's crazy down there. Crazy."

Apparently, the drive from the airport to stadium was only 240km. But, it took 5 hours because they had to drive through dirt roads and shit.

Man they have to be exhausted.

After a long flight down, an even longer bus ride to the match and a grueling 90 minutes and then having to repeat the same bus and plane trips back to Toronto, you'd be exhausted, too! :D

But FUCK IT, MAN! IT WAS WORTH IT! :scarf: :canada:

I gotta think if TFC brass could do this over again they'd just fly commercial just so they could get directly in and out of Tegucigalpa. They could've gotten a good night's sleep last night and then gotten back smoothly today with a single connection in Miami or Dallas. I only say this because we need the guys rested for the weekend.

That airport is scary. No way I'd fly into there, commercial, or otherwise.

That was the plan...not the commercial airport but a nearby airbase. They led us along but ultimately refused us permission to land there. Thus the next nearest airport was that bus ride away. ridiculous.

Must be nice to have everyone in the country try and do whatever they can to give the home the advantage. Even if it means diverting the away team plane to make the journey that much more difficult :P

make sure you redirect Cruz Azaul's flight to land in Ottawa then make them stuck on traffic in 401/DVP in a yellow school bus to come to BMO :)

My point was that commercial flights CAN land in Tegucigalpa which would've made commercial the better option. Unless it was too late to cancel the charter??

Think of DeRo's week...

Dallas July 24
Motagua July 27 *Set up the only goal.
@Houston July 28 *Scores against biggest club in the world.
@KC July 31 (Scorching hot)
@Motagua Aug 3 (planes, buses, corrupt officials, overnight flight home) *Clutch goal to basically secure our spot in Champs league.

The Guy is a stud.

5 games. 11 days.
All that travel.
And still managing to be our best player.

How could anyone ever doubt him after the miracle in Montreal.

He basically put the team on his back...those 3 clutch goals.

I've been discussing with my fiancee that if our first born is a boy...
First Name: Dwayne.
Middle Name: DeRosario.
