For those craving one last footy fix this weekend. In HD on NBC Seattle (Rogers 529).

No Cunningham starting.

TFC USA
07-11-2010, 09:37 PM
LOL I swear the TV announcer said "[FC Dallas] loves to stroke it."

Don't we all?

TFC USA
07-11-2010, 09:44 PM
This is not fair. Why should Seattle get the great names?

Seamon AND Vagenas?

Open stuff so far but Seattle's defense is awful.

TFC USA
07-11-2010, 09:46 PM
What the fuck kind of backpass was that?

And how did Montero not score there?

TFC USA
07-11-2010, 09:51 PM
GOALLLLLLLLL MONTERO.

1-0 Seattle. Very lively start.

There is an MLS game today of all days?

MLS should really smarten up and not schedule a game on the day the World Cup is being played. It causes a natural inclination for comparisons and you don't want that in the MLS...LOL!

TFC USA
07-11-2010, 09:59 PM
Unlike the World Cup Final though, this game is entertaining. :)

Hell, 4 years ago, they had games kicking off at the same time as the World Cup final.

Beat that! :)

ATDHE.net had a feed but I'm not sure it's working. You can check though.

This is a great first half. Very open stuff.

TFC USA

1-0 Seattle at halftime.

Should be more goals in this one.

That was an entertaining half. Awesome goal by Montero.

TFC USA
07-11-2010, 10:46 PM
Holy shit Seattle should've made it 2-0.

TFC USA
07-11-2010, 10:52 PM
Wow. Brek Shea just wildly flings his legs out to bring down Montano, who in turn lowers an elbow on Shea.

Shea doesn't get punished despite loads of contact, and Montano is sent off.

twistedchinaman
07-11-2010, 10:53 PM
What the fuck is that?!

Seattle down to 10 -- Colombian guy on his first start gets sent off. Stupid Slounder supporters cheering him.

TFC USA
07-11-2010, 10:54 PM
The elbow is a definite red but how the fuck does Shea's challenge go unpunished? That was a ludicrous challenge.

twistedchinaman
07-11-2010, 10:55 PM
Also...the Seattle plastic pitch looks awful. As usual.

Shea was nailed with a yellow -- I only got a glimpse of it, so I can't say if it was truly red-worthy or not.

Good lord this announcer has to shut up about "Rave Green".

Montero is on fire today. Great game.

TFC USA
07-11-2010, 10:57 PM
Cunningham is coming on.

Time to vomit.

Good lord this announcer has to shut up about "Rave Green".

I'm seeing now why the people on Test Match Special didn't like him much.

He's no Nigel Reed -- Arlo's voice carries about as much gravitas as a leaky shotglass.

Time to vomit.

I was so hoping I didn't have to -- I just had an awesome meal.

Good gravy -- is it just two Bastards watching this right now??

The dude sounds like a fucking cheerleader. He's so biased it's not even funny. Sounders this, and Sounders that. Nigel and Jason give criticism when needed.

I'd take him though over those disgraceful Colorado pricks.

Oh thank god Cunningham hasn't scored there.

TFC USA

McCarty just curls one wide.

Only two commenters here in the last few minutes on an awesome game.

He should've stuck with the cricket back in England, and even then he wasn't all that good...

Just goes to show that British commentator =/= good commentary...

I just don't see what's the big deal with the Jabulani ball...or is it because of the plastic pitch you don't notice the wildness?

TFC USA
07-11-2010, 11:07 PM
Jabulani seems fine, I hate plastic pitches in nice stadiums.

twistedchinaman

Jabulani seems fine, I hate plastic pitches in nice stadiums.

Qwest Field, sad to say, was an okay stadium. Was just big and cavernous...I honestly didn't see anything special about it when I was there. Like a McStadium, I'm afraid.

12 mins left, still 1-0 Seattle.

twistedchinaman
07-11-2010, 11:13 PM
12 to go...Seattle still making some chances despite being down to 10.

I'm waiting for the inevitable Cuntingham late strike, though...ohhhhh it's gonna happen.

TFC USA
07-11-2010, 11:13 PM
Dallas is subbing in a defender....okay.....

TFC USA

Oop, redo...

Seems like Riley did a little acting job there.

TFC USA
07-11-2010, 11:19 PM
Riley could play for Spain with that dive

TFC USA
07-11-2010, 11:23 PM
1-1 with a min to go.

And....what did we say about the inevitable late Dallas/Cuntingham strike?

Dallas seems to always find some way to strike late. It's an effin' bad habit of theirs...

TFC USA
07-11-2010, 11:24 PM
Harris heads wide. Stoppage time.

Less than 90 seconds to go...

Oh I know. I'm just saying they just find some way to get a late goal...

Make it final:

Seattle 1-1 Dallas.

TFC USA
07-11-2010, 11:27 PM
1-1 the final. Fereira's goal saved Dallas.

Seattle is toast. I got a feeling they're headed for the cellar this season.

twistedchinaman

Discuss.

And I don't know how much Blaise Nkufo could do to turn it around...

Portland must be watching this game licking their lips with glee.

The rest of the season (barring a turnaround for the ages) will test how loyal these Sounders fans are to the team.

Let's see if there are empty seats.

twistedchinaman
07-11-2010, 11:35 PM
^ Empty seats are going to become inevitable, believe you me.

Is 42 points going to be sufficient for the playoffs this year?

TFC USA
07-11-2010, 11:41 PM
I think 38 should be enough.

Seattle is on 16 and would pretty much have to go on a hot tear and the way they play offense that's unlikely.

Keller just doesn't look as sharp this year.

TFC USA
07-11-2010, 11:45 PM
Keller should hang the gloves up. Great career but he's just a little slow this year.

I think you have it in for him, he did absolutely nothing wrong today, in fact, he was quite good.

have you watched him the rest of the season though? he's had some howlers this year, while last year he was top notch.
he doesn't look as good as he did last year... not surprising considering he's 40 now.

Even though I don't think Seattle's problems are Keller's doing, that was hilarious. :D

Seattle are now 2-1-6 in their last nine MLS games. I suspect they are cooked.

Are the Sounders gonna give all fans a free season's worth of tickets if they don't make the playoffs? ;)

Marcus Hannahmen is from Seattle

Considering Wolverhampton is still in the Premier League, I have a hard time envisioning him wanting to leave for the Sounders just yet.

Maybe one more season in England, then if Keller retires then he'll return to Seattle.
