View Full Version : Landon Donovan vs. Seattle

TFC USA
07-04-2010, 09:35 PM
Sounders are playing at the Home Depot Center to Landon Donovan and only Landon Donovan. According to ESPN we're all getting are cocks hard for national hero (what the fuck?) Landon Donovan. He's arguably the greatest player in the world if it were up to ESPN. His fantastic heroic goal against Algeria (I think it was a bicycle kick from the halfway line) delayed our inevitable exit to an African team by one game.

The game is on ESPN and here's a stream.

If you support the US I have been told by ESPN that every time Donovan touches the ball you must orgasm like you would banging your girlfriend.

In all seriousness, the Sounders are mediocre so let's watch Landon Donovan score 25 goals today.

ESPN commentator:

"There was a lots of mutual admiration betveen Donovan and the LA Galaxy fans today"

Yeah, all day long they were taking turns on sucking each others dicks, I wonder how Landicakes has any energy left to stay on the field.
Not to mention that after the game he still needs to be in shape, 'cause the great LA Galaxatives fans will be offering their 16 years old virgin daughters, wives and fiancees to him.

I remember last year there was a handful of people here holding up Seattle as THE example for a properly managed, properly coached MLS team.

And here they are one year later, a total trainwreck of a team.

TFC USA
07-04-2010, 10:36 PM
I think they're problem is lack of strikers.

Montero is good but who else is there? They had this problem last year but did enough on defense to win. Now they're offense is even worse and their defense is struggling. The Sounders can't cope with their complete lack of offensive firepower.

TFC USA
07-04-2010, 10:41 PM
Keller seems totally off today among others.

Think they need to find their Stefan Frei.

Because most American supporters have a hard on for the ultimately useless Altidore who did almost nothing at this World Cup, or In the EPL or in La Liga.

Dempsey- Buddle should have been the up top pairing with guys like Donovan and Edu playing in the midfield.

I think Altidore is better than people think.

It's Findley that pisses me off. He creates nothing and does nothing. Altidore assisted on the goal that tied it against Slovenia.

Altidore/Buddle I believe would've been a solid forward pairing.

I agree we needed more Edu and less of Clark.

Right, cause if you had a choice you would take TFC's first 1.5 years of existence over Seattle's . I am one of those people, and those statements have always been made in comparison to TFC. Seeing how much you bitch about Mo I'd be shocked to hear you say that you'd take our management over theirs.

While it's beside the point, I should point out I've barely said anything about Mo for a couple of months now, though I still think he should be fired. And I never "bitched" any more or less than anyone else on this board that thinks Mo is doing a shit job.

"Would I take their first year over TFC's" is kind of an odd question, though you've essentially re-framed the discussion around a point I didn't make, and a question I never posed. I suppose I would? It's kind of irrelevant to what I actually said - my point was never to imply that I somehow approve of the job TFC management have done as a consequence of being amused by the Seattle train wreck.

I said I find it amusing that, a year after people were holding up Seattle as the class of the league in terms of ownership and management, their team is a total farce. I find the juxtaposition of those two things amusing. My statement had nothing to do with TFC. It'd be like if someone was bragging about how safe their car was, and then it suddenly burst into flames - that confluence of events would be amusing.

To answer your question though - I actually don't think I would take Seattle's first year over ours, because it would take away the great memories I have from our actual first year: seat cushions littering the pitch, Danny's amazing goal to close out the season, opposing corner takers getting buried in streamers, and the pitch invasion. No one really gave a shit about results that first season - there were no expectations - and we all had a great time. Some more wins I suppose might have made things better too, but it's not like Seattle made any noise in the playoffs.

- Scott

You know how many Canadians hate Sidney Crosby for being a little bitch when he plays in the NHL? That's pretty much how I feel about Landycakes. When he scores for your country it's bittersweet because you're going to call him a shithead at the next club game.

Also he has the least masculine sounding voice in history.

If you watched the BBC or ITV broadcasts they were applauding and praising Ladycakes EXACTLY the same way.

At the moment, Donavan is good enough to play in pretty much any league he wishes to...not with a ManU, Bayern, Real or Barca but I would guess any other team, in any other league would gladly take a look.

Someone used the Crosby analogy earlier...spot on! I can't stand him but oh what a player!

Landon is the best player in this league...like it (him) or not.

God forbid they try and capitalize on the world cup coverage by marketing around the few recognizable names they have in the MLS.

I don't understand why ppl go on monkeytilt every time they want an ESPN or FSC feed.

It's like you know how the game is going to be called and that it's going to piss you off, but you watch anyway just so you can show how much of a real fan you are by pointing out how they're marketing the game to casuals and 12 year old girls.
