First rule of coaching in other contact sports: referees may not see the original infraction but they ALWAYS catch retaliation, so don't do it! Can't be the first time it is seen in MLS, so why is Preki outraged at it?

Thanks denime for doing this - the first stop of every day!

100% spot on...

In Jr. Hockey you preach dicipline over and over and over (lots of testosterone at that age) and in so its not about avoiding a tilt, or hammering a kid - its about taking a slash to the back of the leg, or a sucker punch to the head - and then JUST SKATING AWAY...

The first contact is rarely seen, b/c the person doing it does so when the official isn't looking...

Footy is a little different, in that there isn't nearly as many "cheap shots behind the play" with the intent to injure - but the philosophy and reasoning is the same - don't retaliate...

Turn your head and walk on...
