Please close this if already being discussed elsewhere, but...

We all shit plenty on the team, the FO, etc., but sometimes, they get something very very right.

This is one of those times. The way this video's done, Jimmy's cadence, the script, pure good times.

I like it.

Especially the self deprecating, all about the money, bit.

I though it was a little misleading. TFC's ultimate objective is to win the Club World Cup? It would be a major accomplishment for the team just to get into and then out of the group stage.

^ Aim high!

Although... that would be a pretty remarkable accomplishment.... and a long-shot!

This is like saying our ultimate objective isnt to win the MLS Cup, but just win a couple rounds.

Why wouldnt our objective be to win the club world cup?!

Sure it is a completely astronomical goal for an MLS team but so what?!

Montreal held their own against eventual CONCACAF representatives and 4th place finishers Atlante in 2008.

Ive always viewed the Club World Championships as the ultimate goal. Its basically unattainable, but it is technically the greatest prize this team can win. Why shouldnt it be the ultimate goal?

True, but you did notice the thing was a cartoon? Not our gameplan for the tournement.

If the assistant GM thing doesn't work out, Jimmy B has a solid future in childrens television narration

The cartoon made it sound like the tournament was all about getting to the Club World Cup. No team in Europe goes into the UEFA Champions League hoping to get to the Club World. It felt a little, just a little mind you, the cartoon's fun and cute, that it was undermining the value of the tournament.

I think overall it was good and educational. A regular here wouldn't learn anything, but it explains for the average person where the Voyageur's Cup win fits into the bigger picture.

I agree with the post saying that for Euro teams, winning the European CL is the big goal in itself. However, every footballer wants to win everything, and as Jimmy said, the World Club Cup is "all about money" so clubs want to win it too. It's kind of like a bonus round after you've won the big prize.

I was thinking infomercial pitchman. I'd buy a slapchop from him.
