View Full Version : Pre-Game: Toronto FC vs. Kansas City Wizards (June 5th, 3:30 PM ET)

Home game against the team we played against in our first ever match at BMO Field. They won that game 1-0 and have not scored here since then.

We've got a road win and this is the first of 4 consecutive matches at BMO. Let's do this. :flare::drum::scarf:

We're well rested....and at full strength....and they're playing like shite...Gawd I'm probably gonna regret this but.....I'm saying we're gonna THUMP them!!! 3-0......

I'm going to say this match ends up being kind of flat, due to the come down from Wednesday, and both teams looking forward to the World Cup break. I'm going to say either 1-0 TFC or a 0-0 draw.

Of course, they could also work like crazy due to knowing they have some time off coming up, and this could end up being 2-0 or 3-1 TFC. Who knows.

I feel optimistic heading into this game.

You can't win 'em all, but this one looks like a probable win. 2-0 TFC.

No Davy Arnaud for them as well.

huge factor, this...we need 3 points from this and then go into the international break on the shoulders of the dirty crew. On paper we should do it, but I get increasingly nervous of blowing this 100% league home form the longer it lasts even tho we're playing well. We should certainly have enough in the tank to get the points tho.

in last year's 3-2 win in their park, Davy Arnaud scored the brace for them, let's re-live the moments and win 3-0 at home... why not go all out for the win before the WC break?

Dangerous situation. Our confidence is probably sky high right now, which leaves but one way for it to go.

Here's betting Preki rotates out some starters to put performance pressure on the rest, wake 'em up before the game.

In theory, TFC should have an easy route to victory on Saturday provided Preki doesn't allow the players to rest on their laurels...

Interestingly enough, the guy who would have likely man-marked Arnaud (Saric) is out also. So Sanyang - DeGuz will be the double 6?

This may have been true last year, but I think Preki really has whipped this team into physical and mental shape. Much different dynamic than last year that's for sure.

Confidence should be sky high here, but KC is in wounded-animal stage right now with or without Arnaud, and will strike if we let our guard down -- so let's kick this Jack-in-the-Box into the deep confines of the closet, and win this one heading into the World Cup break. Hope Preki and the lads come out firing, and fire a warning shot to the rest of the league...

Predo: 4-1 TFC.

I'm going to be honest, this game kind of terrifies me. See, this season, we've been the underdogs, and that's a position I like. Now, we're going into a game with 4 wins out of 4 at home, coming back from an away win, and the heavy favourites (look up the betting line). I hate being the favourites. Even go look at the KC board, they're all predicting a big loss.

Essentially, I'm really afraid we're going to decide to shit the bed because that's what TFC does. At the beginning of this year I thought the cycle was finally broken. See, they were so bad, they couldn't possibly give me enough hope to shatter my dreams, could they? Well, look at them now, they are good enough to give us hope, which means they can hurt us again. Bastards.

I'm hoping we'll see a PACKED BMO for this game. I know our first game was an official sell-out, but so far it's been quite depressing to see thousands of empty seats every game. The weather certainly hasn't helped either, and probably won't tomorrow.

Should also add that it looked like Preki was playing the starting 11 against the rest of the boys. DeRo, Deguz, Barrett, Peterson, Cann and Attakora definitely didn't have bibs on, and I'm pretty sure Sanyang, Garcia and LaBrocca didn't either. Cronin, Hsacanovics and Gala definitely had bibs on.

LOL true I guess. Can't wait to see him again. He's from Aalborg, Denmark like myself. I followed him thick and thick, like the team, for 5 years before moving to Canada. Aalborg Boldspilklub seems to have their fingers in many pies (just like MLSE)

Through time the club has had branches in cricket (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cricket), tennis (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tennis) and basketball, but currently controls teams in football (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Football_%28soccer%29), ice hockey (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ice_hockey), floorball (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Floorball) and handball (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Team_handball). All teams are competing in the top-flight Danish league in their respective sport. The kit sponsor for the club is Adidas (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Adidas), and the principal sponsor for the football and handball team is the regional bank Spar Nord (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Spar_Nord).

For us not being the underdog, this is such a big game because the team usually let us down in similar circumstances in the past. If we can win these kind of games, then we know the club has truly turned the corner. If not, it's right back to the drawing board.

Apart from the injury to Nane and suspension for Martin Saric, Preki has a full squad to choose from for tomorrow’s match at home to Kansas City Wizards.

^ Even in light of Oldtimer's answer, I would assume if TFC had an NFL-style injury report prior to game time, it would read JDG as "probable".

I would keep JDG on the bench to start and get him '45 if we're losing, '15-'20 if we're winning or its close
