he is a proven goal scorer..maybe too 'in his prime' for MLS, but he's being negotiated by Monterrey and has no team after the WC2010 is done.

with signing of JDG and Luis Landin, given price and situation is right, players in their 'prime' can be signed...

Yeah he's gonna turn down $20 million from a La Liga side to sign for TFC? Get serious...

i think its £12m for the transfer, that MLS looks after.. right?

but yeah you're right, if Suazo had to choose, i'm sure he'd like to stay in europe

Until the team starts losing points consistently, I wouldn't touch the roster right now.

Suazo at first wanted out of Spain... he was taking too much verbal abuse by the fans there at the begininng... Wouyld he sign here? perhaps if the price is right... there is a strong Chilean community in this city which would help sway him... but Europe is Europe.... and money talks big time.

Seeing Chupete here would be pretty sweet though.. he would eat defenders alive

Last I heard Zaragoza was very happy with him, I think that they wanted to but him since he was on loan. Maybe Monterrey wants him back

How true. Thanks for that. I laughed so hard when I read your comment.

Here's the skinny:

On 8 January 2010, he left Monterrey (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/C.F._Monterrey) and signed for the Spanish (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Spain) club Real Zaragoza (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Real_Zaragoza)[11] (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Humberto_Suazo#cite_note-10) on a loan deal with an option for Zaragoza to buy Suazo for 10 million euros. He made his debut for Zaragoza in a 0-0 draw against Xerez (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Xerez_CD) at La Romareda (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/La_Romareda) stadium.
As of the 20th of May, 2010, Suazo's card still belongs to Monterrey (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/C.F._Monterrey) and its worth has been raised to $25 million, provided that Real Zaragoza (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Real_Zaragoza) doesn't make valid their option to buy his card at $14 million.
On 28th May, negotiations to take the Chilean back to the La Romareda (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/La_Romareda) fell through, his next move is strongly rumoured to be to England's Newcastle United F.C. (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Newcastle_United_F.C.).

SUNDERLAND are continuing to monitor Humberto Suazo after Real Zaragoza were priced out of a deal for the Chilean striker.

But the Black Cats would be forced to part with £12million should they pursue their interest in the player – who is contracted to Mexican side Monterrey – and could face competition from Valencia and Boca Juniors for his services.

imminent participation at the World Cup – he is expected to be fit after a recent shoulder injury, despite missing Wednesday’s friendly against Israel – and the effect a string of impressive performances in South Africa could have on pushing up his price.

Outraged at the sudden increase, Zaragoza sporting manager Antonio Prieto demanded the Mexicans honour the original agreement for a player crowned the world’s top goalscorer by the International Federation of Football History and Statistics in 2006.

But Monterrey are holding out for the higher amount, and though the club’s vice president Luis Miguel Salvador yesterday insisted that “no information of an official offer” has been received, sources in Spain and Argentina claim Valencia and Boca Juniors are interested.

I don't see it happening but considering Borghi is now in charge at Boca I wouldn't rule it out.

I purposely stay away from these boards for a few days, just so when I get back I get to read threads like this one.

^^ so what, they should be shooting for the stars with the DP slot/$..many of the stars they try to attact wont come until they are done in Europe...Suazo is probably one of them, but why shouldn't they try?

i've read enough garbage about Dickov and some other old farts that make be wanna make me puke.... any of the 2 Suazos would be awesome...but only 1 is available from what I know.

I think we should have a thread each for every single available player in the world. Then we can discuss.

Boca, along with the Argentine league, is sick... Suazo would lead that league in goals if Claudio Borghi gets his wish and gets Suazo, along with Matias Fernandez

Este culiao fue por la plata que le ofreciron!! But in all seriousness, everywhere El Matador went he won Championships.. Xniversidad de Chile, River Plate, Lazio, Juventus (2 goals in very little appearances)

An exception to the rule :D

'snot what I meant. These boards abound with threads of nothing more than speculation. Whether it's about alternative kit colours, name fonts on the backs of jerseys, new roof designs, potential player signings, new managerial candidates, tournament restructuring, etc... it's all rubbish.

Your candidate is no more or less likely to land here than any of the others proffered up, and no less (or more) desirable.

I feel suddenly inspired to post a junk thread - Mods feel free to close/delete (if you can find it in this mess).

edit - you know, I bet I suck a bunch of you chumps in with my little masterpiece.
