I write this at 1:20 PM on Sunday, and as of right now, the standings have not been updated with yesterday's results.

WTF...can't the DonMeister get anyone to work weekends? How rinky dink is that?

Major League? Ya right!

The West is still looking KA-RAZY!

Toronto FC is third in the East while Seattle is last in the West with the same number of points (9)!

I'm not too concerned about that...especially given our heavily back-ended home schedule... but it's pretty crazy that the league can't get this site updated immediately folliowing matches, the way the "Major League" sports do.

Pretty sure TFC have ten points - three wins, one draw.

Yes. they do.. but this is the point of the post... the standings aren't up to date even a day after the games.

This has only happened since the Site change hasn't it? I seem to recall most stats being updated fairly quickly. They have really really dropped the ball with that website.

But it's only a few month old I'm sure they'll get it fixed eventually.

Toronto's own website still had 2009 standings until about game three of this season.

How much can it cost to pay some college grad a few bucks to keep this stuff updated?

There really is no excuse.

Always love how many of the UK media sites actually have the standings updated live during the course of a game day. Even junior hockey updates it's standings the same night.

This MLS thing isn't even minor league.

Fixed:D

Yep. The CSL btw, has yesterdays games updated on their standings.

But MLS can't get to it.

An on a separate note, congrats to Milltowne FC for picking up a point in Montreal on their first ever league match!

Not only that, but how is DC above Philly in that table? They have the same points, more games played, and a worse goal differential.

There ya go.

MLS has been saying since the start of the season that there have been problems with the data system they have feeding their website's standings and statistics pages. Clearly those problems aren't sorted. Until then, Soccernet (http://soccernet.espn.go.com/tables?league=usa.1&cc=5901) or even my site (http://gotorontofc.com/index.php?module=htmlpages&func=display&pid=10) for up-to-date standings, though I will admit mine is updated a bit more slowly due to the fact that I'm not paying any company a thousand bucks a month to feed data into those tables.

Thanks James... now that we're nearly 2 months into the season it's inexcusable Minor League Soccer Soccer hasn't sorted this out.

Perhaps they should just pay you the thousand a month to feed them their own data.

the other annoying thing is no home/away splits, as existed on the old site's standings page.

Yep, you're right. I think Bats was actually pointing out how the table was never updated in a timely way. :D

It drives me batshit as well that the league can't get its shit straight. There are so many errors with their website, its such a joke.

I would rather look at ESPN Soccernet than the MLS site.

It is now updated. Finally, yesterdays points are now included.

Soccernet has similar home/away splits...without resorting to creating new tables for them. See my link above.

And I'm with you Bats...this is inexcusable.

There's a ton of content that used to be on the old site that you can't find anymore. Historical game summaries and videos...

Yeah, I really don't understand the changeover. As far as I can tell, they've managed to take away valuable content, move around the website so information is less convenient to access when it's still there, and generally make the website less user friendly. Does it take up significantly less bandwidth or something? Otherwise, I just can't figure out why they would change it, maybe I'm just getting old and the internet makes no sense to me anymore.

The site is so shit I simply stopped going.

The only reason I go go is for the account manager, that`s it.

yeah, this isn't a new thing. i remember looking at it near the end of last season and they didn't have updates for a three game stretch. it's shite. plain and simple. it doesn't need to be, but it is.

The obvious intent, based on the type of content -- particularly the new story and column content -- was to present it as a "magazine" style media package.

Problematically, the package is pretty screwed up by bad code, bad management, lack of forethought on some content.

Just a poor, poor job.(But I still go. Lots of stories; few much good, but hey, I'm a footie addict.)
