I have to say that this Fire team isn't the same as it has been in the past. Without the likes of Rolfe at forward for quick give and go and goal potential and the absence of dropped goalie Bosch at the end of the season the win, welcomed and earned, is the result of a still untested Preki lineup, but that will change:

Ahead of a light June schedule with just three matches, all of them at BMO Field, TFC will pile up some air miles as they go in search of their first road win of the season. Four of their remaining five games in May are away from home, including west-coast dates in San Jose, in Los Angeles against the Galaxy and in Vancouver for a Nutrilite Canadian championship match with the Whitecaps.

This will be the true test of this clubs ilk and an chance to see just what these guys are made of.

Still, Good job boys on getting the 3 points.

Yeah -- I think if the playoffs started today, even though we're 3rd in the east, we'd be 8th in the seedings -- and that only by head-to-head and goal differential.

Could easily be 6 Western teams in the playoffs this year.

Imagine L.A. vs. Houston for the Cup at BMO.

That would be a low turnout, I think.

It's because they got rid of Garcia...they've been on an upward trend ever since!

I saw the game, early red card to Red Bull changed the entire game. They put their heads down and gave up completely.

I am going to pretend that the Seattle franchise doesn't even exist. It will be better for my mental health.

DP in their first year. Playoffs in their first year. Dedicated supporters section.

They're what TFC should be.

Or realize that they're competing for the entertainment dollar, or are looking at a more long-term approach.

Maybe one of them will make a fake diary entry....

Could you imagine someone at TFC suggesting to MLSE that they refund money?

"Hello, MLSE, how can I help you?"

"Hi, I'm a TFC season ticket holder...."

"Wonderfull, we value our loyal supporters!"

"Did you see the LA-Seatle game yesterday?"

"Ummm...yes, why are you calling?"

"Well, I read that Seatle's owners were embarrassed by the team's proformance and..."

I don't think the refund issue has ever been warranted in the short history of TFC. I have been a season ticket holder since day one and I honestly can't recall ever leaving BMO Field disappointed to the extent that I wanted a refund. I can recall a few disappointing losses to the likes of Vancouver, San Jose, and Seattle but the games were close. I can't recall TFC getting utterly embarassed at home the way Seattle was dismantled by L.A. this weekend. In fact, despite TFC's overall record of futility the last 3 years the lone bright spot has been their record on home turf/grass. The trend has obviously continued this year...

The home opener last year against Seattle was close. If it hadn't been for Frei the score would have been a lot worse.

Not sure that is the case, but the choice of doing what they've proposed will give them a more secure fan base than anything else they could do. Long term gain on short term pain.

Certainly no home games in 2008 or 2009 were bad enough to demand a refund.

There was one home game - the last scoreless game at the end of the long scoreless streak in 2007 where the team didn't try at all - zero heart, and people started walking out around the 75th minute (I was one of them, the only time I ever walked out on the team).

I think it was the very next game where Canizalez scored improbably within the first couple of minutes to end the goaless streak, and I've never seen the team play that badly at home again.

There might be a point in giving refunds to the away support to the last game of last year... that would have been a nice gesture.
