Chad Barrett is all like, "Fuck ya"

Nana is all like, "Well I better put something on my face or they won't let me do these for cash...seriously though, Orange slices?"

Frei sure as shit ain't staring at the oranges...watch out Chad.

Cronin's trying hard not to laugh and has his faced turned from the camera...

Classic.

Am I the only one here not upset about this? Come on people. Our players are paid under a salary cap. Kids like Nana make squat. If they can make some extra dough over and above what they make in salary I am all for it.

And as Canada's media capital if players see that they can make potentially some extra dough over and above their salary in ads does it not make the team a more attractive place to play? I want to see Sanyang shilling used cars and Nick Garcia selling slap chops!

Christ, it could be worse

I find it entertaining. Cornball advertisements are always great to see.

You guys notice that the jerseys dont have collars that are 2 inches thick like the TFC white jerseys? Probably because they're not copying Manchester United's 1997 jersey.

Milo is big in the West Indies, so I would not be suprised that a West Indian mom would make it for her child. When I came to Canada in 1984, Nutella was hardly known, but as an Italian family we had it all the time. [ that goes for almost any Italian product from prosciuto to arugola]

Agreed. Nothing wrong at all with selling sliced oranges when you think about it. At least it's not a case of uber-fit athletes selling sugary colas or fat-ladden potato chips.

i think its great the young guys can make some extra cash---team should be doing more of it gets them more dough and hey with guys like frei it might just keep him here longer

also it might encourage kids to eat more fruit---and that aint a bad thing

That what I was going to say. Though corny, at least it's something healthy. No biggie.

2. I'm not sure that anybody is angry about this. They're amused. It is amusing. It's funny.

Hey, I'm an English kid originally. Orange slices at half time for footie, tea and sandwiches at the turn for Cricket.

There's a certain tradition in this, and it's kinda wholesome. I don't know why people have an issue with it.

I see what you're saying.

Still don't get it though.

To me it's not upsetting, amusing, funny or anything else out of the ordinary. Players hawk things all the time. It varies from phones, shoes, clothes, appliances to vacations, cars and homes. In this case, it simply points out Metro is a partner to TFC and highlights a product sold at Metro. It's not Mel Lastman moment that's for sure.

This "picture" is one where a Toronto REALLY wishes hadn't been published. :D

Dichio's half time ad for energy conservation is my "favourite" cringe worthy tfc ad.

the politician dressing up in tfc kit, the over the top worthiness and earnestness of the message, and danny, bless him, reading scripted lines and making them sound natural just isn't his strongpoint.

If a portly kid who likes TFC decides to eat some Oranges instead of a Twix because of the sponsorship agreement, than they have done something good.

Promoting a small team, and giving cash to professional athletes who don't make millions, also a good thing.

How long until they start selling them at BMO?
