Montreal at Vancouver in NCC tonight.
http://www.vancouversun.com/sports/soccer/Vancouver+soccer+fans+still+irked+Whitecaps+Canadi an+championship+loss/2982276/story.html

We have had problems in this tournament in large part because the outcomes of the Montreal-Vancouver games have been one-sided. Here is the aggregate results from the Montreal-Vancouver games in the Canadian Championship so far

2008:
Montreal won both games (4-0 aggregate)

2009:
Vancouver won both games (3-0 aggregate)

It would be nice if these teams could play ever to a draw …

Already mentioned in his own thread/trialists, but given it seems clear without De Ro we shouldn't even bother saying the word offence ... finding someone who can find the back of the net should be a top priority to get this season on track

BAPTISTE WORTH THE GAMBLE (http://www.rednationonline.ca/Baptiste_Worth_the_Gamble_may_5_10_column.shtml)

Not to mention IMO still hurting at the back, I think someone mentioned this but what did Cronin do to fall behind Gargan, Saric, Sanyang ... even Usanov - Cronin doesn't have pace (neither does Usanov) but delivers a much better cross, so couldn't he be a good option at RB?

Excellent insight into Kerry Baptiste's career and potential by jloome. I echoed these sentiments as well. I sincerely hope this deal comes to fruition...

Great article on Baptiste from Jeremy for sure. I definitely agree he's worth the risk and despite the Trini connection at Ipswich, I think he would want a starting position in the MLS over a bench spot in the Championship.

I hope so, and I also think he would be pleasantly surprised with how the atmosphere at BMO Field measures up with Portman Road...

And who says Mo's not trying to make this team better!

Baptiste definitely worth the shot....hopefully MO can make it happen!

Lol, I remember last year Vancouver fans were complaining of a fix because we won 6-1. But I always countered anyone who argued that and said that TFC should actually be leery of Vancouver and Montreal who seem to take their turn shitting the bed to try and freeze out the MLS team from the CCL. I wonder which one it will be this year?

Media Advisory/Photo Opportunity - Visa Canada and Julian de Guzman Kick-Off New Financial Literacy Tool in Toronto

Launch of Free Online Financial Soccer Game Marks One-Month Countdown to the 2010 FIFA World Cup(TM)

TORONTO, May 4 /CNW/ - In timing with the one-month countdown to the 2010 FIFA World Cup(TM), Visa will launch Financial Soccer, a FIFA World Cup inspired online educational game that teaches young Canadians the fundamentals of responsible spending, the banking system, budgeting and saving. With a set of fast-paced, multiple-choice questions, players are tested on their knowledge of financial management skills as they advance down field and score goals against their opponents.
Reinforcing its global commitment to financial literacy, Visa Canada has partnered with Toronto FC star Julian de Guzman to host a kick-off event at St. Mary's Catholic Secondary School. The launch of Financial Soccer also coincides with public consultations in Toronto hosted by Canada's Task Force on Financial Literacy. The Task Force was founded by Finance Minister Jim Flaherty in June 2009 with a mandate to develop a cohesive national strategy to improve financial education across Canada.
Join the students of St. Mary's Catholic Secondary School in learning how financial success, just like success on the field, comes from preparing and practicing good habits.

You will need digital cable to watch the Vancouver v Montreal game as Sportsnet is only showing it in the East and West regions.

not news, but awesome

360 panoramic video of a stadium demolition. (http://demos.immersivemedia.com/data/ClientDistribution/TexasStadium/IMPlayer.swf?config=http://demos.immersivemedia.com/data/ClientDistribution/TexasStadium/config.xml")

I know this doesn't belong here, but it didn't seem worth its own thread.

TFC now makes it into the general sport's fan's consciousness (in Ottawa yet!):

So if you are a sports fan, you follow the Blue Jays, the Leafs, the Raptors, the Argonauts and Toronto FC.

Last on the list, but even 2 years ago, TFC wouldn't have even been on the list.

It almost seems like when they run out of good things to say the writers focus on the individuals. Good or Bad.

I said before that this team will be fucked in a major way if they lose Attakora or they wear him out.

Adrian Cann, is doing pretty good for TFC. Maybe TFC should look into Jack Stewart, I think hes out of contract.

It's a good thing Preki rested him against Montreal.

i hope the whitecraps and limpact tie tonight 0-0 or 1-1... would be the best result to work in our favour....

0-0 I think would be the best conclusion? Boring game to watch, maybe another Limp act will punch someone again.

On the conflict between the G20 Summit and TFC game…

"…the sense is it will be no worse than many other events at the Ex — limited parking, etc.”

Brought to you by the same boardroom who thought having "round (fuckin' ROUND???) seat cushions" was a good promotion!

Still awaiting TFC/Duracell Battery Day!

Fucking clueless…

why so angry? you'll find a way there. this is a big city often full of massive events going on at the same time every summer.
