The De Ro interview was good.

I seem to think he's sounding more motivated since becoming the Captain.

am I right to be worried that NYRB are looking really strong this year? Sigh.

I think the MLS brass would relish a NY-LA MLS Cup Final...

The league's season is like one basketball game. It all comes down to the end.

When he was younger, he was kind of an athletic freak with good skills but didn't really have a mind for the game. By the time we got him he was starting to settle down, just got too hasty about pushing him out the door. Outside of Ronnie O our mid-fielders would have struggled to find our forwards on the team sheet, forget the field. That was always the bigger problem that year, which never adequately got addressed.

Credit the service for making him better this year though. Stevens and Juninho have both been extremely solid. They don't even need Beckham to be successful, but i'm sure he would be a large help.

The sad part is, they will probably lose both Buddle and Donovan to the World cup, so they'll have to find another way to win.

Holy friggn' Buddle WTF?

he had 2 hat tricks last year. . . . was in the running for a golden boot.

Dont know why he left, he was the one that set up and did the work for our first goal.. and was on the lower end of the pay scale. .

I always bring huim up, as his success (along with Connor Casey) are the biggest draught mis steps this organization has made. . . .

anmd I will continue to ensure that we dont forget it!

I wonder if Wynne will bite us in the ass tonight. . . fortune says yes.

GO DERO !

Yeah, but in many ways this is an excuse to call everything about this league random. The salary cap keeps everyone within a range so it's hard to be really bad or really good compared to the pack but I wouldn't say this means there's no element of skill about it.

Kinnear and Nicol don't have their teams make the playoffs practically every year by accident.

You're right in that Buddle was someone we should've waited on. But it wasn't maturity, it was treatment for alcoholism.

they didn't look strong last night at all. They got saved by Bouna Condoul in net and a penalty shot. Juan Pablo actually received a previous penalty shot to the one he scored on, but Dario Sala saved it. So much like TFC vs Philly, their game was more about getting the points than looking strong.

The way I remember it, 100% of the people on here hated Buddle. Not 99%. He looked like a disinterested floater out there for us. We were all cracking open the champagne when Mo dealt him.

The moral of that story is, Mo must go, and we TFC supporters definitely have a patience problem.

Are you not confusing Buddle with Cunningham? I don't remember the hate for Buddle - especially since he played so few games for us.

Why does that never happen to us? :( If anything, we often play well and then lose anyway.

Not confused. Buddle was not here long enough for the full Cunny hatred to develop. But people didn't like him. Everyone here wanted us to go 4-5-1 with Dichio as lone striker, or play Lombardo instead (I am not making this up).

Buddle looked lazy out there. That's why they called Samuel "fat Buddle" - same floating style (it's "lurking" when you're Leo Messi, btw)

I don't remember well enough to disagree, so I will speak for myself when I say that I would take buddle back. Not cunningham
