Houston's downtown stadium is fully approved after clearing the last hurdle with council approval. After years of wrangling it's finally getting built.

Doesn't sound like ideal terms but no matter, when an MLS team gets a primary-use stadium, that's good for the league.

I imagine each successive stadium announcement is just adding to the pressure DCU is feeling.

i didn't see anything that said where
just 'east of downtown' to me that could mean it's not actually in the city. though i'm sure i'm blowing smoke when i don't need to.
sounds like i need a new road trip to texas for a fourth time :)

The co-tenant, Texas Southern, is in the south end of downtown Houston so my guess is this stadium will be within the highway that loops around the city's downtown. That's a good thing.

I've been to Houston, so I have an idea of how this will work. It's actually even better than downtown, and will be really easy to get there. Texans don't take public transit much, the car is king over there, being on the highway ring is great.

I've been to Houston many times and I agree with you!

DCU and NERevs need to sort their situations out.

NER is officially the ugliest stadium. Turf, football lines, and a cavernous huge empty stadium.

Co-tenants are TSU football, aka pointyball. What kind of turf can handle both???
