Boston is a fantastic city and very welcoming to visitors. But I offer this bit of advice.

Boston is not Columbus or Chicago. You need to be smart. At night, in bars and pubs, if you're a big group wearing the TFC colours, it might be smart to wear a Red Sox cap or something as well. If you are singing stuff like "This is our house" etc., trouble is going to find you.

Have fun.

Last year we sung the whole repetoire driving through downtown Boston & people in the streets were dancing along. We then blocked the street in front of the RPB hotel singing our hearts out & everyone was pleasant.

Eventually Boston's finest showed up to break up our little party but everyone was very friendly.

Never been to Boston, but common sense should prevail. If you look for trouble, it will find you.

That being said, I've been to plenty of US cities where being a fan of another team isn't any sort of problem. Unless we're Yankee fans, I don't suspect people will care much if we are there to support our team.

Heck, we timed the party's breakup to precede the Finest's appearance. TBaby and I were the only ones left at the hotel when they did show up.

It was good fun, even the hotel's doormen and security guys were amused.

Just out of curiosity, we usually sit at the opposite end of the stadium from where the "Fort" is, right?

From what I've heard, Revs fans aren't quite the douches that some other fans can be.

Always good advise to be smart. To take extra caution, if you don't have emergency health insurance you might want to get it. Got mine at RBC for $25

That Yankee comment above is right on the mark. A little humour/good natured approach always goes a long way... might even get a free beer or two out of it.

If ya hate the Yankees clap yer hands,
If ya hate the Yankees clap yer hands
If ya hate the Yankees, they're dirty and they're stanky
If ya hate the Yankees clap yer hands

Problem is, I hate the Bosox, so I wouldn't be singing that song.

Yep, unless that changed this year. The few I came across last year were cool. The KC fans were cool as well outside of a couple of retards, but you get that anywhere.

We need even more street chanting this year!

Security escorts are pointless, what a joke, just go in like you are at any other sports event, this idea of security makes me laugh, I was at the TFC game last year in New York and it was fine, also went the next night to see the Giants/Cardinals game decked out in my Cardinals red and everyone was welcome and having a good time.

I often think that a security escort makes you a target. Sort of like when guys want to have a go in hockey, they are a lot tougher when the Refs are standing in between them.

But such are the rules.

I'm more worried about us scoring a goal than I am about security.

wear a bosux hat?

AHAHAHAHA

yeah right. i'd rather wear a sandwich board that says "free hole poke" with and arrow pointing to my face.

you just gotta keep your wits about yourself and don't fuck around to the point where things will go bad.

Unfortunately, you may be unaware of many issues on this front and I highly recommend you consider avoiding keeping this point of view on any away trip.

For safety, also try and know the lyrics to Extreme's "More than Words" or "Wholehearted".

PS - DO NOT GO to Fall River, Mass. WAY, WAY too many Portuguese there.

when i went to toyota park in season 2 we had massive security escort to get in and out the stadium (which was very smart) but when I went for a smoke at half time i had to walk right next to section 8. which kinda defeated the purpose of have a security escort us in.

Start up a chant that will get the Revs fans singing with ya.... like Pookie said:

Then follow it up with a ..

If ya hate the Boston Red Sox clap yer hands,
If ya hate the Boston Red Sox clap yer hands
If ya hate the Boston Red Sox, they're dirty and they're stanky
If ya hate the Boston Red Sox clap yer hands

Now that would be funny, watching them turn from smiles to scowls :D
