With two weeks to bring in new faces, as well as a the new DP ruling, what are the chances any potential talent will come in via First Wave? But more importantly, why is that we don't know the details of the methods of where signings are coming from - why is it when it comes down to a lot of things TFC related, we don't know anything?

SSG::hump:shaaaaaawwwwing!

I remember I saw a tiny girl like the SSG riding a bike down the street and she was sitting on the bike with her butt hardly on the seat and her G- string sticking out. Her tiny breasts were kinda visible with the wind blowing her shirt nice and tight. I felt like doing a u-turn, because she was going the opposite way, but I elected to do a double take and a mental picture instead.

I definitely gave her a good stare down:D. Hot as hell!

Gerba:

Is this Johnston writting the article related to Mo some how, because they seem to be taking hollidays on the same freaking dates. Also, he implies that Ali Gerba won't get a job elsewhere, don't be surprised when Gerba pops up in Europe or with the other Canadian clubs.

Nane Joseph Signed?

So he wasn't signed before but now he is? What a fucking mess and propaganda with this team.

.....................................Breaking News...........................................
We are delighted to be starting season 4 and we will be looking to fill voids in certain positions, one of the main priorities will be to add at least one more player on defense. Mo Johnston is currently holliday'ing/scouting in the Caribbean. Mo said he was looking forward to the scouting trip and he would spend a month there, scouting the top leagues.

Once again: Thank you for your patience.

P.S. - Have you seen the White Jersey: Youtube it(dumbasses!)
.................................................. .................................................

:deadhorse: :deadhorse: :picard:

One day, mark my words , this team will lose the fan support and they will be bought and moved to Miami. This team is no different than the freakin Grizzlies.

NBF:

Poor Results, losing season after losing season, poor player signings and lack of play offs will have little effect on the Gate, or financial prosperity of this team. . .hence, no move.

Toronto Fans are just too "Passionate"

We will support regardless. . . . . . almost to a fault.

NANE: I read "midfielder" and stopped reading. . . are we looking at young strikers? or any strikers?

Maybe because it's none of our business.

If you owned your own business, would you give out specific business information and methods to your customers?

I wonder if Parky would let that SSG denigrate his bike in such a manner by laying all over half naked and stuff? :D

I never thouhgt as size as a particullarly important attribute in a mid. I guess it is good, but hardly essential. Size in a Striker, CB and Gk, sure but in any other position, again hardly the first attribute that I am looking for.

But I guess our problems are that we lack height in the mid, the sun says so.

Yeah, I look to speed, ball movement, positional play, etc., as more important attributes than size for a midfielder. That being said, having a big mobile holding midfielder who can distribute the ball would be something any team would want.

Maybe you should read the article first and don't make a conclusion based on one sentence.

BLASPHEMY! We deserve to know absolutely everything about the way our club is run! So what if that hinders our ability to negotiate with agents and players? So what if that hurts the relationship between current/past/prospective players and management? So what if it makes it impossible to make trades? WE'RE ON A NEED TO KNOW BASIS AND WE NEED TO KNOW!!

/end sarcasm. Also good post James

Edit: Denime, I took it that he was speaking generally, not specifically about that article. Just how TFC does business in general

in response to above -- too many deals were either blown or almost blown by inquisitive supporters so now we have to respect the veil of secrecy since we created the need for it

With fitness guru Paul Winsper out of the picture, Preki has made it his responsibility to get the club in shape.

When did this happen? If the author isn't wrong, then it's another "F" for the PR department.

With respect, James, I've been assigning newspaper stories for close to 20 years. I not only have a fairly good idea of what they can get away with, I'm also quite aware that within every angle there are things you can say and things you can't.

There are almost never just "things you can't", unless you're talking about legal disclosure issues or legislation.

Dude, with respect, read the piece. It doesn't advocate giving away trade secrets, just being cogniscent of the fact that there are many ways to inform your fans and keep them interested, which has substantial side benefits reputationally.

Paul left months ago. I can't remember if the club mentioned anything, but it's possible they did. I believe he went to work for Nike or something.

I would say you are getting "F" for not reading our "daily news" more often. :D

If I owned a business I would give my customers/clients who invest money in me as much information about my practices as possible in order to show them confidence in my abilities to ensure future investment.

There are of course different degrees of this depending on the type of business.

But IMO, something like some details (crumbs!) on where we find our talent, it is our business. Most people here have invested anywhere form $500 to $3K and expect to see something in return (ie winning or at least decent players and attractive football). It would go a long way in the interim (because we don't have any of the above) to let their clients and investors know what is being done to keep things on track and make progress.

Just my opinion though :)

*Eats hat* Actually now that it's been brought up, I do recall the news piece. If this were YouTube or a comments section after an article, I'd be getting loads of "epic fail" and "ftl".

I didnt know we needed more midfielders or keepers. Im a glass is half full kind of guy, so heres to hoping there is a striker coming our way. Kosic or Nane do not seem overly impressive to me, depth players to be sure.

OBW doesnt compare to a guy like JPA or Landycakes or McBride or Blanco etc etc.

Agreed. If I was building a team I would have at least one, big DM, who can play real deep and almost duble as a CB. But the author of the article mentioned size as a NEED for the club, at CB or Striker sure, but in the mid? Hardly a essential with this club.

We should sign Morike Sako next, he's a good MF, AM, ST. He's 6'8, if you look at guys like Shalrie Joseph, this guy would be just as dominant.

I understand where you're coming from, but running a sports club -- and especially the scouting of young soccer players, in general -- is an extremely competitive business. I don't think it helps the club at all to be revealing too much about where and how they scout.

However, the First Wave aspect is another issue. I've said this before in another thread -- if Mo does have some 'too comfortable' relationship going on with First Wave, then this is definitely something that needs to be investigated -- not on a 'we'd like to know' basis, but on a 'this sounds really shady' basis.
