What would you consider the most successful year.

1. Make 23 Million in operating profit, finish at the bottom of the table

2. Make 19 Million in operating profit, make the playoffs, crash out first round

3. Make 14 Million in operating profit, win the Cup

4 Make 10 Million in operating profit, win the Sheild AND the Cup

#2. Mediocrity creates the notion that success is possible, thereby securing a certain level of future income.

Sounds familiar, dunnit? :)

but there's only so much mediocrity fans can take. even the Leafs are starting to hurt at the box office.

Given the size of the waiting list, I think MLSE can still work at #1.

The Teacher's Pension Fund will work at #1 until shit performance by the team forces them into another model!!

But that is the Pension Fund's mandate!! I like winning and would take a whole lot less money to do so.

It looks like MLSE actually aims at #2, and I suspect that's what the Teachers' want, as well.

They consider making the playoffs a victory.

#1 is unsustainable (except for the Leafs) because eventually people get fed up and leave.

what a question, MLSE would call it a success at #2 The other 5 million they would make it up in merchandise hands down

I love what if choices... this reminds me of a KYC questionnaire...

Which Portfolio would you prefer? Making $100k in year 1 but crashing in year 2?

welcome back to our forum olegunnar.

isn't there somewhere else for loaded, pointless questions with very, very thinly veiled shots at the team's owners?

I'm pretty sure everyone here considers winning the MLS cup as the only real goal of success. Money should have nothing to do with anything.
