The second article was very good in my opinion. Shame the CSA has no interest in dreaming big, unlike the COC.

Only one trialist still with the team! Of course the others could still be signed, maybe we're waiting for the new CBA.

I think we all know that Frei's departure is a question of when, not if. So we might as well get another keeper in since MoPrek has done shit all to shore up the back four.

Canada's friendly against Argentina in jeopardy:

Diego (http://www.goal.com/en/people/argentina/25941/diego-armando-maradona) Maradona (http://www.goal.com/en/people/argentina/25941/diego-armando-maradona) is on a collision course with the AFA (Argentinian FA) after refusing to play a friendly against Canada that had been organised to celebrate Argentina (http://www.goal.com/en/teams/argentina/208/argentina)'s bicentenary.

Maradona argues that playing a friendly just two weeks before the World Cup in South Africa will add to the burden of keeping players fresh, fit and injury free.

"I don't want to play on May 24 against Canada," he told TyC Sports.

Don't worry Maradona, I'm sure you'll bugger up your countries chances whether your star players are fit or not LOL

Has Argentina qualified yet? Last time I checked Maradona was doing everything in his power to prevent that from happening. If he succeeds in ruining that team it might nearly help make up for '86 :)

I think they *just* qualified from what I remember, but I think they have an easy ass group.

Well then, fingers crossed he tanks them in the group stages. It's amazing how one man can cause so much damage so such a good team.

Maybe riding on the World Juniors and the Olympics a friendly with the USA would get some good coverage...

I'm pretty sure that most countries schedule at least one friendly in the immediate buildup to the World Cup...

There's a lesson to be learned here: drugs are bad for the brain.

Canada's friendly against Argentina in jeopardy:

thats not a bad thing it means tfc does not lose 3 players
we need to be 100% as much as possible to put a good season together

i am not against freindlies but not during our season p l e a s e

mornin d

oh and yes canada should have " own the world cup "
lots of money from both governments and private sector

but it also starts with an attitude and coaches and parents talking and just planting seeds with our young children that wouldn't it be cool when they grow up to play for our country CANADA :canada:

make it a dream to play for CANADA and ingrain it ( to stop the defections)

Yeah, and they brought a pretty competitive side as well. I will say this however, from all reports Die Mannschaft weren't very good at all. Still...

Oh, I think Mo has a plan. Since he knows his defense is crap & he apparently can't find more good defenders to sign, he's going to ask the league to play 2-3-4-2, i.e., with two keepers at the same time. When they say no, he can say he had a plan but unfortunately it didn't work out...

WTF... why can't we find players like this?

"Nkufo has led Twente in scoring each of the past six years, with 21 or more in each of the last three seasons. He has scored 129 goals in 260 appearances for the club in all competitions. He previously played for clubs in Switzerland, Qatar and Germany."

It's frustrating man.... especially since some of the players suggested on this board have actually ended up landing in the MLS. I remember talks about bringing in Dejan Jakovic or whatever his name is, then next thing I see, he signs for DC. Fack!

Next thing you know, Kevin Kyle, Del Piero or some other player we've endlessly discussed will end up at another MLS side leaving us to ponder WTF is going on over at the TFC FO.

Actually if you watched the entire game...it wasn't all that bad. Argentina could be a good team in the WC...despite what people think of Maradona.

But for the sake of fitting in: "I fucking hate Maradona. He's fat and arrogant and scored a goal with his hand 25 years ago....I don't care if he's one of the best ever"

In short...because we don't value players like this. Look at where we've spent the bulk of our money (look at the types of players) and you'll see that a player like Nkufo has never been our "type" of player.

It's so fucking sad.

No, see this is the problem. Argentina SHOULD be a good team in the WC. With the players they have and the group they're in, there's no reason the Argies shouldn't make it far in the WC.

IMO, Maradona doesn't have what it takes to manage the National team from what I've seen so far anyway.

I'll stick with the line that a trained monkey could probably manage that team to the final 8. But, everything short of winning the whole thing for them will be considered a failure. Maradona isn't what they needed from a coach, at all.

In fact, I'd argue firing Pekerman was ridiculous. He had them playing great football all the way through, he makes one semi defensive sub and gets screwed out of bringing Messi on because of an unexpected injury. They get unlucky losing to germany on pks, but for my money they played better football than anyone else there.
