That means that the cap or the roster rules will be changing, but they don't know yet by how much.

Has Mo et al. done enough to put the right pieces in place? Still plenty of time but this weekend reiterates glaring inadequacies (per usual) we've had since day 1.

He's had three years to get it right and our deficiencies are as pronounced now as they were then.

The reaction, then, doesn't say a lot for the length of the tether that continues to tenuously bind Johnson to public approval, and employment. If they don't think he should be gone already, the reaction to Saturday's result made it clear that a bad start to the 2010 MLS season -- assuming there is one -- will go from just plain revolting to outright revolt.

There is no way TFC supporters or even general fans would accept Mo being around if we don't make the playoffs. Year 4 of his "5 year plan" would have to be his last.

Perhaps this is Mo's five-year plan:

Years 1-3: be shit.
Year 4: be less shit to save my job.
Year 5: new five-year plan.

For once I think Wheeler got it right.
Thanks. D

Still, I never heard any German Canadian cheering for the German bobsleigh team over Canada.

Honestly, who wants someone wearing the Maple Leaf if they don't wear it with pride to begin with, regardless the talent?

As much as it pains me to say it, Wheeler is bang on today.

+1.

If they don't want to wear the Maple Leaf with pride, I don't want them.

I think red nation has underestimated the strength of badwill rumbling against Mo. Much of it remains latent and under the surface, but it's there sure enough. Posters on here who previously supported Mo quite staunchly (me included) are now waiting for his head to roll. It really won't take much for the hostility to bubble up to the surface.

Odds on seeing a MO MUST GO banner in the stands at BMO Field this season? Pretty short at this point I would think.

It's a shame Canada won't be at this year's historic World Cup in South Africa. Fans will still watch across Canada. But the red and white in the streets and in the bars will be missed. Instead, Canadians will be wearing the colours of other nations come June, and we'll all be a little worse off because of it.

Amen to that.

(Note - someone must have written thsi in Wheeler's absence to fill his column, and he si going to be PISSED when he sees that "he" has supported soccer that openly! :D)

I think "MO MUST GO!" would also be a pretty good chant should we underperform yet again. I'll be happy to lead it (and I was all in favour of giving Mo a couple of years to get things going).

Great article and I agree 100%. The CSA needs to ride the momentum of patriotism and build a winning soccer team. How amazing would that be in 4 years to have Olympic Hockey and be at the World Cup in the same summer in Brazil? Get on it CSA!!

In our last two games against them, they've beat us by a combined score of 9-0. There's something shiiiite about that.

I can't say i ever liked MO..

When all the MLS clubs are scouting in latin america and africa for talent.

Seattle Sounders IS raping the colombian league for cheap priced players Dallas doing the same and now alot of other clubs in the league have jumped on the bandwagon seeing that latin america and africa has a bounty of good quality and cheap talent.
MO is bringing us retiree athletes for trials from Europe. Preki bringing in no named unproven players to bolster this squad. WHAT A JOKE.
And when MO does find us a latin american player he turns out to be a huge pile of crap and at a high salary.

Mo may do draft picks well but his scouting for talent abroad is pitiful.

I love TFC but im not willing to see another failure of a season.. I will be one of the first to make noise to get rid of MO ..

Until the somewhat quasi organized attitute of hating soccer in Canada just because changes, I won't hold my breath.
