How unprofessional is this? I thought it was just a typo in the posting of the links but if you click on it, this typo is actually the headline. Yikes!

I'm getting a bit sick of hearing about the CBA negotiations. You'd think they'd get their shit in order and get a deal done. I have to believe that both sides aren't complete brainless morons - any work stoppage will kill the league, or serious cause damage that it may never recover from - it's pretty simple and obvious.

But then again, nothing produces results like a deadline so there is some hope. And by that I mean a real deadline, not an artificial one like the two extensions the two sides agreed to recently.

The Kansas City Wizards announced Tuesday that the team will not be renewing the contract of Argentine midfielder Claudio Lopez. The team had been in negotiations with Lopez throughout the preseason.
"We would have liked to have Claudio back in 2010, but unfortunately it became clear early in the contract negotiations that we could not give him what he desired,"

Lots of changes going on in KC.

Today isn't the real deadline. The real deadline is March 7 or 8, ie the day the Crew have to board the plane to play Toluca in CONCACAF Champions League.

Oh yes, that's not what I was trying to imply. They set themselves a deadline of the 25th but it's artificial only. My comment was more looking to the future rather than tomorrow's "deadline".

MLS and CONCACAF: Leave to the union and the traditional way of sports business in the U.S. to fuck up the rotation. Let's face it, it's the U.S. greedy owners that want to screw this up for everyone. They seem to want a league that makes a shitload of money right now rather than 100 years from now.

Small upside to the workstopage and inevitable demise of MLS:

We could get our CSL teams ready for the CCL pounce:canada:

I like the idea of Saskatoon SC a lot more than I like being in a league with the "Wizards" and the "Crew." If there was a team in Saskatchewan and something like Rider Nation got behind it that would be fantastic.

The thing is, there's no guarantee that any teams will be making a profit 100 years form now or ten years from now or five. These owners look at other sports leagues and see ones where the biggest, most successful teams are far, far in debt and they don't want that. They want profit.

Still, I think they're going too far in trying to control costs - as I said, it's either guaranteed contracts OR free agency, but they can't have both things going their way.

DD seems REALLY happy as a coach. I don't think he thought things would turn out as well as they have (he as much says so). That puts a major issue of last season as water under the bridge.

Not sure if posted yet, but looks like TFC is continuing to invest in... fashion. Track suits might be cool though.

I would just like to extend a thank you to whoever is responsible at TFC for helping provide the stream for tomorrow's game vs Dallas. Giving the current climate surrounding all things MLS (+ other shit) it will make for a welcomed distraction and a treat for us TFC starved supporters.

Tomorrow night will be about OUR team again after soooo many days and nights with nothing but talk lol. I just want to say that I for one really appreciate it and I will be glued to my laptop even if it is just preseason.

Cheers!

Well, in all fairness, let's not overlook Claudio Castro. Claudio is the team's videographer/editor and takes care of all the streaming from the location as well as all his TFC-TV duties. He's going to be a busy boy tomorrow.

Tonight Marvell Wynne was supposed to at least dress, if not play, against El Salvador with the US Mens National Team.
