True. But like with the Reinheitsgebot, when its made with natural ingredients, its far superior to artifiical additives.

Ever heard of a conference call? Web conference? These talks are important aren't they? Snowstorm shouldn't halt anything this late in the talks IMO. I do my business by conference call all the time when I have to. You can get things done on them without the face to face meet.

To be honest, these type of negotiations, especially at this stage of the game, are best handled face-to-face, in person.

It seems like common sense should prevail. The player contracts will be guaranteed and the new salary cap is estimated to be increasing by 300k which would allow one more high profile player per team by MLS standards...

one small step for MlS one huge step for players rights.. no matter which way it goes im prepared to weather the cba negotiations with alot of footy from other leagues and the World cup.

CretanBull
02-11-2010, 07:25 PM
I think the compromise on guaranteed contracts is a fair one...contracts will be guaranteed, but only after a player has a certain number of years experience in the league.

The rise in the salary cap isn't anywhere near enough to improve the league. Most of the $300k is going to be used up on giving living wages to the horribly under-payed players on the low end of the wage scale.

The league needs a complete overhaul of its salary structure. Do away with the DP rule, do away with allocation money and all the other grey areas that allow for sketchy accounting and give teams a firm cap that allows them to build a respectable team that won't break the bank.
