Im not too happy about this trade for Peterson, basically what it says about TFC is that they cannot find a suitable player in MLS or abroad that wants to play in Toronto. For reasons that might have to do with Salaries, Management(high turnover), and the high cost of living(city itself is expensive).

Same old story for Toronto. Check Raptors, Blue Jays, Maple Leafs, etc.

I think maybe we should have taken a chance on Dave Simpson rather than on Peterson. My question is what side does he play? He's supposedly a winger, but what side? I think I would be more foregivable if he's a Left Winger since there's literally no fast Left wingers in the MLS.

dont know anything about what Peterson brings to the table and ive got no reason to lose faith in Preki yet so im undecided on the trade until we see something

You know Canada is in trouble when they have to rely on a 42-year old GK. At least Onstad will probably be the backup GK.

Preki had a reputation at Chivas for obtaining under-rated, under the radar players who worked well in his system, so I wouldn't worry too much.

If Peterson performs well for the team, then nothing else really matters. Although I am surprised at bringing in another midfielder. I'm wondering what role he'll fit into and who, if anyone, will be moved to make room (as in an American roster spot). Garcia??

He is the assistant coach for the U-23 camp. I think its just a convenient back-up plan if something happens to Monsalve.

My apologies - I was under the mistaken impression of midfield. I thought they announced midfielder when I heard it on the news yesterday.

Every article I saw printed up until today had him listed as a midfielder.

Today the TFC website has him transformed into "an attacking midfielder" or "winger" depending upon which news you read.

In the Raptors case, it has more to do with culture and staying close to home with family for American players. The Raptors don’t have a problem of getting non-american players to play for them though.

Harmse on the move again.

HOUSTON -- The Houston Dynamo acquired the rights to midfielder Kevin Harmse from Chivas USA in a trade, it was announced Thursday. In exchange for Harmse, a 25-year-old Canadian international, the Dynamo sent Chivas USA a conditional third- or fourth-round draft pick.
The Dynamo could be Harmse's fourth MLS club after previous stints with the Los Angeles Galaxy, Toronto FC, and Chivas USA. Born in Johannesburg, South Africa, Harmse was raised in the Vancouver area and began his professional career at the age of 18. He represented Canada in the 2003 FIFA U-20 World Cup and in nine senior internationals since, playing with both Dynamo goalkeeper Pat Onstad and defender Andrew Hainault.

"Kevin is a proven MLS veteran and international player," Dynamo Chief Operating Officer Chris Canetti said. "By acquiring him, it helps address our need to add talent and depth in the midfield."

Harmse is expected to join the Dynamo for preseason training in Houston in February.

The Dynamo will host the 2010 Major League Soccer All-Star Game this summer at Reliant Stadium, and tickets are available in Dynamo season ticket packages, on sale now at HoustonDynamo.com or by calling (713) 276-7500.
