Just like to add that Toronto never got a 1st round pick for Mike "Make" Zaher... it was possibly a first round supplemental pick which in the end was just forfeited due to the cancellation of that draft

I think Frei might just be on his way out. Remember he is still a Generation Adidas player for at least for one more season.

i doubt it's because of anything to do with Frei.

We only have 2 keepers. When Frei got hurt they had some nobody backing him up. since we have lots of roster spots now and they need guys for training camp to make up numbers, I'm sure that's why we see these names popping up.

Me thinks they usually invite a few extra keepers down when the training for the upcoming season begins. This way players got someone to shoot at while the 1st team keepers are out doing other work.

Kind of like the way baseball teams always bring a few extra young cathcers down to spring training so that pitchers got someone to throw to.

And hey, if the kid impresses the team enough to earn a contract then everyone wins. This one just may have become a little more news worthy since he is a local boy and the reality is that he does get a chance to make the team. Good luck to him!

Even if he doesn't impress enough to make the actual team, he may impress enough for Mo to suggest to MLS that he may be a decent signing as one of them 'emergency keepers' that the MLS seems to have a couple on the payroll. IF he's Canadian, depending on his age he could even end up on Tony Fonseca's radar for Olympic Qualifying.
