Here's some important news:

Trader Mo looking to move up in draft

What will he do this time?
Toronto FC director of soccer Mo Johnston is known as a mover and shaker in Major League Soccer circles, always good to make a deal.
And Thursday's MLS SuperDraft should be no different, despite TFC not having a first-round draft pick and having only two picks in the draft (Nos. 24 and 53).
"I've actually been very quiet so far," Johnston said.
The silence won't last long.
"I'm confident we'll be able to get some things done over the next six or seven days," he said. "This year it's all about getting the right guy and the priority is to move up in the draft."
Johnston's job is that much more difficult, not having any American roster spots available. And using an international roster spot on an American drafted college player doesn't make sense for the club.
EXPECT MOVES
Translation: Expect some player movement from Johnston.
Johnston also acknowledged he's in on-going talks with various clubs and players, and now that the MLS player combine is over, the real action begins.

If Mo is looking to move up in the draft, who will get traded? My guess is Barrett.
Mo is probably looking for Teal Bunbury. Bunbury said on the Fan590 Soccer Show that he would love to play in Toronto.

MLSE moving more into digital content:

MLSE has hired new staff to operate its digital arm. The group's projects include social networking sites on Facebook and MySpace, Twitter accounts, Leafs TV Interactive (51 games are streamed at $1.99 each), Leafs Mobi (the cellphone application), Leafs Insider (an internet fan forum) and mapleleafs.com, the NHL's No. 3 website.
"We're trying to be as wired as possible. It's an area you just have to be in," said Peddie.
Other MLSE clubs – the NBA Toronto Raptors, the AHL Toronto Marlies and the MLS Toronto FC – have their own digital supports.
"It's tough to make money off it. It takes a lot of people and expense," said Peddie.
"But what did (Wayne) Gretzky say? `You go to where the puck's going, not where it's been.' And we're going to where the puck's going."

Peddie is an idiot. The comments you quoted clearly show it.

So Carver looks to make it back to Newcastle after all - in a manner of sorts. Plymouth Argyle has an FA Cup replay in Newcastle this week!

I could see Barrett being a tough sell in the trade market - or tough to get decent value for...

I'm not one of the Barrett haters, but with 5-goals and 3-assists at $200,000k (I think its around there) I think MLS teams want more bang for that buck...

I know people will scream blasphomy, but it wouldn't be suprised if 'Trader Mo' mentions Stefan Frie's name in talks... It would take an impact player coming back, plus a pick that could land Bunbury, but I could see Mo 'feeling out' a Frei trade with Edwards & the new keeper we signed in the background...

Before people start calling for my head or a psyciatric evaluation, I'm not saying "trade Frei", but I think Mo would be willing to entertain offers, if it meant a solid defender or striker, plus a pick that would land Bunbury...

Carts...

Completely agree with you. Now with Mo and Co. looking at that other college keeper as well, could open up a postion to trade Frei.

I don't see this as a deal that has to be done before the draft either. We could wait to see who does pick Bunbury and see if a deal can be worked out at the draft. Almost like a sign and trade deal. Either way we would have to give up something alot of people might not be happy about as well as eating contract or payment in allocation.

Saw this, not sure of how reliable it is:

I was just passed this link from a reader which actually confirmed an email I got over the weekend regarding a possible trade by Toronto FC. Soccer America is reporting that Toronto FC is wanting to possibly trade up in this week’s SuperDraft to get Canadian international and this year’s Hermann trophy winner Teal Bunbury.
